Title: Sunn Gear Finally Organized!
Post by: Jeff Troy on May 12, 2011, 03:35:33 pm
Hi, Guys,

I finally found enough time to straighten out my modeling workshop and adjacent music room.

My basses and guitars still need to get in there, and I expect to spend the 20 years or so assembling all the hookup cords.

I still have to construct the two 2000S cabinets to match the head, and wooden risers for my Twin Reverb and the two Sunn 1205 PA cabinets. Other than those pieces, I'm pretty much done.

Here ya go...

I'm a movie idiot. My DVD Cabinet holds 8,400 movies - and it's almost full!

I still have to make those wooden risers and 2000S Cabinets, then I need to find some old guys who want to hang out to sing and play some good rock & roll!

Warmest regards...

Holy Tualatin, Batman! That's quite a collection.

The Sunn photos look like a music store 40 years ago.

Hi, CLD,

That's Conrad. He's got Tolex, grilles and corners. The rest is just grunting.

Now I need to get my hands working again.

Warmest...

Very Nice! Probably a better long term investment, and certainly a lot more fun than most fetishes (at least that's what I tell my wife). If Fender ever resuscitates Sunn, that MI gear should flat skyrocket in value, and even if not I don't imagine it will do anything but increase in value.

I wish my stockpile looked half that good, but I'm still hoping to come across the "real deal" in tolex. I'm very tempted to do (well... "have done") a 2000S rig in "Navy Blue Bronco" anyway. I think it would be stunning with the SF7005 grill cloth...  :-D

:-o Excellent collection! Hey - I am working with a band that was rather popular in the late 60's/early 70's who used Sunn gear. They are doing several "reunion" gigs and I would like to try to supply Sunn equipment if they do any larger stages. Two guitars - bass and drums. Both Guitar players had 1200's with 6 - 12's in a cabinet over two 15's in a cabinet and the bass play had 2 - 2000s heads and 4 2000s cabinets. That's probably overkill right now but a couple of 1200's with 6-12's and a single 2000 with two 200s cabs would be awesome. Any idea where I might hook up with that? The Band is Bubble Puppy of "Hot Smoke and Sassafras" fame. They are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as "One hit wonders". They were recently inducted into the Texas Music Hall of Fame (Finally). You can text me at 512-422-8206 - Name is Jerry :-o
