Sunn Beta Lead pots
« on: July 04, 2011, 11:10:50 pm »
I just picked up a Beta Lead and a few of the shafts are broken off the pots. What kind of pots were used so I can replace them? Drive, bass, and mid.

Make your own "spider" pots by soldering "extension" leads onto the correct valued panel mount pot...........cheaper and faster that trying to find NLA stock pots

I planned on doing that, but I'm having trouble finding a pot with 4 connection leads. 3 on one side and 1 on the other.

If the fourth tab was a simply a ground that might be the thing to do, but I hope it goes without saying that the actual purpose of the fourth tab needs to be determined before proceeding.

The last one I fixed (Beta Bass) used the "fourth" terminal as a mechaical connection only - yes it was connected to the case of the pot. Who ever started this post just needs to look at the pot and the board - not hard to figure out.
