2000s vs. 350b
« on: November 27, 2004, 05:35:22 pm »
Hi, can someone tell me what the differences are (if there are any) between the 2000s and the 350b heads?

Also, it's my understanding that kt-88s were used early on, then Sunn made the switch to 6550s. Is that correct? If a 350b has kt-88s, has it been modified to accept them?

Lastly, what is the going rate for these heads?

THANKS!

To my knowledge the 350B has a solid state rectifiers and two 20uF 600V filter caps like the Model T. I've never seen one, I'm just going by the pictures I saw on ebay. I've never seen a schematic either, I assume it's pretty close to the 2000S.

I have a 350b that I would like to date. Does anyone have any information on serial numbers or dates of production?

Mine has a metal-looking plate that says "Sunn Musical Instruments XXXXXX" and a circular yellow sticker that says "MM XXXXXX".

Thank you.
