mystery sunn cabinet

i have a sunn cabinet with 6 x 12 speakers. i'm pretty sure it is pre 1980 and the seakers have silver cones (celestions??) can anybody help me with infor on this? do you know what the ohm rating is? 16?8 or 4? it has been sitting for more than 15 years. any idea of its value?? it is huge and weighs a ton.

The Cabinet you're asking about is called the 6-12 S cabinet.Since it is"huge",meaning 28 inches wide,it was the match for the 1200S tube head of the late 60's,which then changed over to the 350L of the early 70's.The speakers are the silver dome black dot eminence Sunn alnico speakers which were standard at that time...and yes..you'll find that when you need to move it from place to place,friends will all of a sudden be too busy to help.Kinda like moving a Hammond B3 organ.I believe it was an 8 ohm cabinet.

No, IIRC, the nominal impedance was 6 ohms.

Six 8 ohm drivers, three sets of two, the two in series, the three sets in parallel, would give a nominal impedance of 5.33 ohms. Close enough.
