If you want a Coliseum 880 schematic
« on: May 13, 2008, 08:10:00 am »
I reverse engineered my newly-acquired Coliseum 880. Email me for a higher-res version. The high-res version can be posted freely (I don't have a place to put it in full res).

The DISTORT has two RCA footswitch jacks - if both are grounded together, they do the same as the front-panel switch. If only the left RCA jack is grounded, it will boost the preamp signal relative to the position of the DISTORT control. If the right RCA jack is grounded by itself, it will cut the preamp signal relative to the DISTORT control. In any case, the distortion is minimal at best (with a bass). I may try bypassing the 5K6 source resistor in the 2nd gain stage.

The SUSTAIN control sounds like a master volume to me without enabling full cut of the signal. It affects the feedback of the last preamp stage, but I can't perceive a difference in dynamics on bass. I'll give it a shot with guitar.

The power section is identical to the Coliseum Slave.

Hope this helps!
