« on: February 06, 2012, 09:56:57 am »
How's it sound? There's a guy around my area selling a Red Knob Concert Bass for $200.00.... Just wanted to know a bit more about it since I haven't played on a Concert Bass yet.

I occasionally play guitar thru my red knob Concert Bass amp.   Depends on what kind of music you are playing and what kind of sound you are looking for....blah, blah, blah,....that all being extremely subjective.  To my ears it sounds very good but I'm no tone snob either.

You have to take a guitar and try it out IMO.  Otherwise,  who knows whether or not  YOU will like it.

very true... I just wanted to know the amount of gain or overdrive it can put out... I have a beta lead and it's the best tone for what I'm doing, I want to expand. I want more.

You can just run a cable from the Preamp Out on the back of the Concert Lead to the Poweramp In on the back of the Concert Bass. Then just run more cabinets.

As far as I know all Concert and Coliseum amps, not including slaves, have Preamp Out and Poweramp In jacks on the back. Not 100% sure about the red knob amps. Check the pictures posted in reply #5 in this thread: http://sunn.ampage.org/sdp/index.php/topic,4369.0.html
