Hello;
The stagemaster produced about 120watts balls out distorted. It was designed by Bob Hick and myself in the early 80's. I have one with the foot pedal so I could draw out the schematic if you want to make one. To have a clean sound use the A channel. You don't have a pedal so you have to turn the B (red) channel level all the way down. Turn the master power level for the A channel all the way up and then just give enough A input level to get your sound. The A channel is a fender preamp design and the B channel is a marshal preamp. They came with 81-0126 8ohm speakers netting a 4ohm load to the amp. This amp should get clean and real loud unless you have a bad speaker. The high current c-mos asymetrical distortion yields even harmonics and is still one of my favorite amps in the studio. It seems I can always get a sound thats right. Don Thompson
Could you email me a copy of the scematic for that footswitch? My bass player(who plays guitar in another band) needs a footswitch for his Sunn Stagemaster(which I traded him for a Sunn Concert Bass head and 2X15s cabinet). I think I got a pretty good deal out of it. What do you think? L8r, Kevin
Lurk,The only thing I found was an old ad on Reverb that said it takes "a standard 1/4" footswitch." Pictures of the back would seem to corroborate that. If so, that opens up your options.
Did you ever work out a solution to the footswtich issue? I find myself having the same lack of information. I also got nothing else from the guys over at Sunn currently as all the documentation for the Stagemaster seems to have been purged ages ago. They do have schematic info for the Beta Lead and Beta Bass, which Ive heard some folks whisper that it is similar to the Stagemaster, but could go either way. Ive also heard the Enforcer footswitch also works.
