1969 SUNN Sorado with matching 2-15 Cabinet.
« on: August 30, 2009, 11:15:12 pm »
SOLD: :(
Thanks to everyone who posted here!!!

1969 SUNN Sorado with matching 2-15 Cabinet.

All tube amp powered by two kt88's with Mullard preamp tubes.

Had the amp biased with new RI Gold Lion KT88's, new 3-prong power cord added and checked out by Music Technology with a clean bill of health.

I have been collecting vintage gear for many years and have not seen an amp and cabinet in this condition.
The amp head I would say is mint, collectors condition and the cabinet has a couple very small signs of use but in extremely nice condition and sounds sweet.

Check out the photos:

Asking 1,275 for the pair.
May consider splitting the set.
Located in the Washington DC area.
Please email me at news73@yahoo.com if you have any questions.

Thanks!

I envy who ever gets this.  Clean man, clean.  If only I had $1,400.

This doesn't help you and could be probably not be posted, but I felt like it.

Thanks Adam,
Yes, very very clean. Can get loud but really thrives as a recording amp.
Certainly will be hard to see it go when the day comes.

Yep, spellcaster, your Sorado rig is a beaut!  Although mine is a 1971 and perhaps slightly less valuable, I'd love to see you get $1,400.

Fortunately, I won't have to see mine go ... it'll be part of my estate!

Yeah I'm not too eager to let it go but I'm just putting the feeler out there to see what kinda interest might be there. The same reasons why I'm considering selling it is probably the same reason why It's hard to rationalize spending the dough for others. Good chance in the end it will stay with me. These Sunn amps really are a unique force of there own!!!

I agree completely.  The Sorado is my reference point for all other bass amps.  My main gigging amplifier (with various Sunn cabinets) is an Aguilar DB359, which I think sounds pretty doggone close to the Sorado.

If you decide to keep your Sorado rig, I'll understand! :-)
