Wastelanders "Cosmic Despair"
« on: June 11, 2010, 04:21:54 pm »
Hi everybody. I'm throwing this up there mostly to share but also for some possible tour help. I play in a solo band called Wastelanders that is ambient, spacey and loud. All the gear nerds out there will be happy to hear I rely primarily on Sunn and Acoustic gear for the volume and cool sounds.

I completed an album recently that I'm trying to tour on in the fall called Cosmic Despair. It's mostly composed on organ but does have some guitar and drum machine as well. It can be downloaded in full here:

I'm working on a fall tour so if you dig the tunes and you may be able to help in these towns or ANYWHERE near please let me know. Let's work out some show trades when you go on tour. I live in Chicago.

Good stuff, mate. Sounds excellent.

In Baltimore, The Charm City Art Space would be a good place to contact for a gig: http://www.ccspace.org

In Richmond, you can contact Jim Reed. He's a local musician, promoter, Sunn user, and all-around good dude. He sets up local DIY gigs. His info: horizontaldude@gmail.com & (863) 670-3145

In the DC/Northern VA area, you might try The Corpse Fortress. Again, rad guys, and a great DIY space.

Hope this helps, and if you end up in Bmore, you're more than welcome to crash at our place. I'm sure my dogs would love to sleep on an unfamiliar face for a change.

Didn't listen to the music yet cuz I just went to the site and saw you were in an actual band.  I wanted to hear your other band.  Harpoon is slaying my speakers right now.

Thanks so much for the referrals you guys! I will certainly check those places out and see if they are into doing a show.

As far as the West coast that's always been a dream but I have never toured there. Hopefully next spring or something.

JD I hit up CCAS but didn't hear back, although it was only 3 days ago so we'll see. I played there about 4 years ago with my thrash band Crazy Stallion and it was a fun time. I don't know if you know John Bachman. He used to help me with shows there a few years ago but we haven't really been in touch for a couple years.

Again thanks for the hot leads I will surely look into them!

Also as an aside, for Harpoon I have a reissue Model T that I play through a 4x12. On the other side of the stage I have a Concert Slave that runs the Model T signal into an Acoustic 201 (2x15). Just throwing that out there since we're all into the Sunn gear!
