Sunn Beta Lead Problems
« on: April 15, 2009, 05:03:44 pm »
Hi,
I'm new here,
but a sunn lova,
and have a frustrating issue with my beta lead,
the input jacks are starting to fizz out,
just started today, maybe its the heat or over use,
but i tried different cables straight in and occasionally it will just stop inputin sound from my guitar,
then if i give a lil tap on the top, or jiggle/remove,replace the jack it starts back up again.
any help/advice would be appreciated,
also both of the channel lights are always one when i plug it in to either of the inputs,
might have something to do with the prob,

also a maybe unrelated thing,
when the drive is all the way up i have this hiss when i'm not playing anything or even if the guitar volume knob is off or if its unplugged even!
its not that overbearing, compared to the guitar volume,
but at shows it is pretty annoying, so i gatta have it at atleast 6 or 7 to avoid hiss,
this isn't normal right?
is yours pretty quiet at 10 or what?

thanx again for possible help

Hi there, sounds like you have a combination of maybe dirty input jacks and/or some bad solder connections around that area.Spray some De-Oxit on a 1/4" jack and plug it in and out half a dozen times or so and see if that helps. If it doesn't,the jacks might be damaged or it could be a solder conn.Hope this is of some help, good luck,Mel.
