I'd go with the 2X15, you won't regret it.
I upgraded to one from a 4X10

Sunn Beta Bass into Sunn 215B
Sometimes I use my Concert Basses (when I do I plug in the back & defeat the pre-amp)
-
nice dude, i was going for the beta bass before i found a coliseum 300 on CL
-
Thats great, I got my 2nd Concert Bass & 215B together as a matched pair on CL for $450
Bought the Beta Bass for a great price off a local music messageboard.
Believe me, if I had seen a 300 for the right price I'd have snagged that too, haha.
-
it'll be here on friday

going cab hunting today
-
so this might be a dumb questions but say i don't have a cab yet, can i play just the head through headphones? i live in a tiny apt in a crowded building. practice space coming soon.
-
I would think one of the heavy duty 2x15 cabs like the 215BH. Just got a 300 - have not tried it yet. Are these different than the realwide solid state ones?
-
coliseum 300 is solid state. i'm asking if i can play through the head with headphones
-
also, your 215 rig looks sick
-
If there is not a headphone Jack, then I don't think so. I have heard of adapters but not worth the money when you can get a Tascam bass trainer to do that.
-
i think you may be able to do it with something like this...

plugged into the pre-amp out jack
-
cool, exactly what i was thinking
-
so i just noticed the difference is various coliseum 300 heads, some are covered in tolex with handles on the sides and metal corners and some have a plastic (?) body with plastic edges. i guess its the difference between red logo heads and white logo heads. any differences in sound or quality?
-
Looks like I'll be rocking one soon.

I think this things gonna be too wide for all my cabs.
Guess I'll be turning something on its side.
-
You're going to need more than one cab to get the most of out this head so there will be plenty of space to set it. :-D

does it run @ 2 ohms or 4?
-
i run my Coliseum @ 4 Ohms-hope that's right cause it sounds huge!
-
Thats probably what I'll end up doing too.
Apparently the Red Concert Basses go down to 2 Ohms.
I've only ever run either of mine @ 4, but the guy from MORS runs 3 of them @ full capacity

It's made to run one 4 ohm cab (= 4 ohms) or two 4 ohm cabs (= 2 ohms).

well, I'll certainly have to give it a shot @ 2ohms then.

It's official! The thing is a BEAST!
