Title: Beta Bass footswitch wiring

I'd like to make a footswitch for my bass player's Beta Bass, but I don't know what to do and don't want to blow it up!  I guess I could put a voltmeter on it but...

It's an XLR jack, so it appears anyhow.  Can I go to radio shack and buy a plug and then just build a switch between alternative sets of poles to switch channels?  Are there other options too?

Tom, I have a Sunn manual that describes the footswitch curcuit. Let me know if you want it.
