Hi. I need to sell this head asap. It's in excellent working and cosmetic condition. I'm asking $1000 or the highest offer I get for it. Email me at keyanaliaskari@gmail.com for info.
The amp is located in Staunton, Virginia but I could bring it to Leesburg, Virginia or Los Angeles, California in a couple weeks.

Is it gold-plated?

haha. no it's tolex not gold. the last one sold on ebay for $650 plus shipping which was probably another 100. that's what i heard at least.
1000 is a good price if you can afford it and if you're having trouble finding one. mine is basically pristine. also, i'll take offers of a lesser amount.

So you figure if the last Coliseum Bass was $750 on eBay, that $1000 is a good price for yours? Haha, that's funny. Seriously tho, I wouldn't expect to get any offers at that price. You could get a 2000S for only a couple hundred more. Hell, there's a 1200S on eBay right now for a Buy It Now price of $800. Don't get me wrong, the Coliseum Bass is a great amp ... but I've never seen one sell for $1000.

hey kev69,
I checked on the 'bay completed listings
last coliseum lead amp went for $233,73
last coliseum bass amp went for $177,50
another coliseum bass didn't find a new home for a BIN of $349,99
and finally a coliseum bass amp with 2 matching 1x18 folded horn cab went for $660.
maybe this can help you fix a price

Keep in mind that the rig selling for $660 included two folded horn cabs and required local pickup in Seattle or wherever it was. That always hurts a sale on Ebay.

Some pricing from CL - http://www.jaxed.com/cgi-bin/mash.cgi?itm=sunn&cat=mus&fil=&pg=100&loc=&ys=&ye=
http://fortcollins.en.craigslist.org/msg/1334910473.html $300
http://nashville.craigslist.org/msg/1335104234.html $535
Hey get what you can but in this economy I doubt you'll get any offers. :-(

I'm the guy who got the Coliseum Bass head with the 2 118VH cabinets for $660.
Truthfully, your asking price is way too high for a Coliseum Bass head. I have 4 of them and never paid more that $300 for one of them.
You might wish to lower your price. If so I might buy it myself!!

I've kept a weather eye on these babies. My observation is that the earlier SS models have gone on Ebay in a $450-750 range, depending on condition (obviously!). The later models fetch less.
Coliseum Leads go for less as well (even though some say John Entwhistle used then rather than the bass model.)
-
I've used the lead model for bass (years ago) and it sounded pretty darn good!

Hi there, you can find some photos of Entwistle using a Coliseum Lead,a Coliseum Bass and a Coliseum 880 all at the same time, before he went to the Coliseum Slave amps and the Stramp Preamp/crossover unit.Mel.

Yes, indeed, and those pictures are pretty cool. A set-up any Sunn fanatic would love!!
