Hello, would like to establish a resource for amp techs that SUNN users can recommend. Posting to this tread maybe a good start.
-
For the Twin Cities and Minnesota, www.caseygooby.com
He did work on my Sunn Coliseum Bass head and did a bang up job. I was impressed with how little he charged for the work he did, and he did an awesome job.
-
I figured that was your amp at Casey's place. Not many people in this area would have that rig... :-D
Casey is an amazing tech. He's been fixing all of my gear since he worked as the lead tech at Savage Audio. I keep telling him that he doesn't charge enough for the excellent work!

for Charlotte,NC Steve Stoeckel he was a Sunn player back in the day and has been working on them for years! He is familiar with all models.VERY FAIR pricing.

Pancho at Pro Sound here in St. Louis (314-647-4900) worked on my 1971 Sorado twice (several years apart), did great work both times. The first time was reviving it after it had sat idle for a few years and the second time, two years ago, was for a pesky hiss. Not the fastest repair shop in town but he does excellent work.
Two years ago my new-to-me Model T was rehabbed by another local shop, which did an excellent job but it was expensive.
Based on a respected friend's strong recommendation, Obeid Khan at Vintage Amp Restoration (314-631-5030) got my recently acquired 200S up and running. Really good work, affordable rates.

Any one know a great Sunn tech in the NYC area?
-
If you're in the Portland, Oregon area, I am available in between EE school. I work out of my house on amps here and there. Conrad Sundholm is also in the area and you can't get much better than that! We're both reasonably priced too.

Big Crunch in Baltimore is a great place. Brooks really knows his stuff. I don't know why he only has a myspace page, but his webpage isn't really what's important.

Curt, I'm curious what amps Brooks has worked on for you? I sent him an email and I may be taking a 2000s in to him in a few weeks.
-
Anyone know of any good techs for Sunn stuff in the Southwest U.S.?
-
Where are you specifically?
-
I'm in Las Cruces, NM. I might have found a guy in Ruidoso, but I'm waiting to see what he can do with my Concert Lead before I recommend him to anybody. I have heard that he does good work, but nothing brand specific.
-
Jacob Stickle (Stickle Acoustics) in Ruidoso NM did a great job on my Concert Lead and my Beta Bass. Highly recommended, and he takes trades of other gear towards labor costs.

What about here in Austin, TX??
