i'm in indiana and am willing to drive a good distance to facilitate pick-up.

cab can be empty or loaded.

prefer tolex to be in nice condition.

will pay cash for cab within driving distance.

thank you.

also looking for sunn heads---kt-88/6550 amps specifically.

I don't really want to sell it, but I'm a bass player and it just sits in my shop and never gets used like it should. So, I might part with this;

but I'd want stupid money for it.
It's a 1970 factory matched head and cab, I won't even consider splitting it up. Original USA "Coke bottle" Tung Sol's that test like new, Amperex 12AX7, Mullard 12AU7A, Mullard inverter.  Original "Sunn Transducer" AlNiCo's in mint condition. As clean as it looks, with a foot pedal.
I don't need the money, and I know exactly what I've got, the only reason I'd sell is because I honestly believe it's a travesty for the amp to sit unused.
I turned down $1500 a few years ago, and that isn't enough now.   If you are serious, PM me.
Also, as an added bonus it's very near the OH/IN border.

That's a beauty Ed !! I can only imagine what it sounds like,I always liked the idea of the "tall" 4 x 12.A bit off topic, did you ever see / use the "tall" 4 x 15" cab Marshall made ? They're a beast,Mel.

Thanks Mel! It's really LOUD and clean (imagine that ). I tried to use it for the bridge pickup running a Ric stereo with a 2 X D140 200S rig on the neck pickup, but those "Transducer" 12's really don't like bass very much, they were farting all over the place. Too gnarly for me. They kick butt with a guitar though, clean and smooth breakup.
Did I mention LOUD?
Also, I don't know if anyone noticed, but the labels on the drivers in my Sceptre cab are all stuck on crooked, about 45 degrees off center. Maybe it was a "Monday or Friday" cab?  :?

I've seen the big Marshall but never played one, and thankfully never moved one!

that's a nice one there, ed, but it's a little too rich for me right now.

i have a sceptre 4x12 cab, a 6x12s cab, a 200s head, and a for real, honest-to-goodness, '68 coliseum p.a. head.

i like to have backups for my main gear so that's why i'm trying to hunt down another sceptre 4x12 and either a 60 or 120 watt head.

thank you for the offer and keep me in mind if you happen to run across a sceptre 4x12 somebody wants to move.

one thing to consider---i might be able to lay my hands on a west fillmore amp.
if i can, would you be interested in a potential trade situation your sceptre rig?

That's not your Coliseum on eBay right now is it? I'm watching that one, that's one of few old Sunn amps I've never had.
As far as the Fillmore, well that depends on the amp itself. I figure that the longer I keep my "time capsule" Sceptre the more it should appreciate, but I want a "nice" Fillmore pretty bad. I think there were only a few of them made.

I'm pretty sure this one was one of GFR's amps; and while it's got that "working rig" mojo going on I'd like one that is minty also.
Send me a pic!

Typically, I wouldn't find it necessary to say anything.

But, Edbass, that Sceptre rig is just unreal. I covet it.

i will have to double-check that the dude still has the west amp, edbass, but i may be able to do that tomorrow.

there is a possibility that it's a west "grande" amp---i haven't seen it in over a year.
i believe it had 4 kt-88 powertubes and i don't recollect the pre-amp configuration.

if i can get it from him, i would be tickled to be able to trade for something along the lines of a 1200s or 2000s....or one of the giant 6x12 cabs if you have a lead on one of those.
