Model T 2nd Gen to 1st Gen mods?
« on: August 22, 2008, 12:51:48 pm »
I know there's some mods to be done to make the 2nd gens sound more like the 1st gens.  I ran a forum search and JoeArthur's link was not working.  Anyone have an updated link, or a downloadable document?

I don't think it will make them identical, but closer than they are stock.  The 2nd gens just have a weird almost honk to them. I know Joe Arthyr was the man with the info.  Hopefully he'll chime in.

They do. That's because the midrange boost is always on, even when the control is all the way down. You might try turning the Bass and Treble controls up to compensate. It's not a perfect fix, but it might help.

I've done a couple of those mods, and I'm very happy with how my second generation T sounds now. It's possible I might have those pages saved somewhere. Not likely, but possible.
