I have a 1976 concert bass head  my question is about the midrange tone control
it only seems to work when the bass control is turned up, almost as if the mid control is wired in series after the bass control. would any one know if this is normal operation for ths amp?

I have  I think a 74 or 75 (,cant remember)  Concert Bass.(silver and black face)  My midrange control is quite distinct and effective regardleass of position of any other control.

Hello:
Sounds like you have a solder bridge in the tone control cicuit. However, on some early Sunn gear the mid control had to be up for the others to work. It was a weird design that wasn't used for long and I can't remember which models and years it was.
