The "jam band" I'm currently in... we use jam band sparingly, since we have a much more modern rock influence. We've got a few gigs done, we have a myspace with some free clips if you're interested, www.myspace.com/fourandmore...
I use my Sunn Beta Lead for keyboards, and it doubled as an emergency guitar amp when one of the lead players tubes went on his Fender.
(...brownie points for the first person to point out both reasons for the name.)
