When we were playing a show the other day I blew a fuse in my beta bass. Normally I run two, but our guitar player blew a weird fuse in his hiwatt a few days prior so he was using my other amp through a sonic maximizer.

Anyways... I knew thorlock used a concert bass so I asked them real quick (mid set) if I could borrow theirs, because I knew that my cabinets could handle it. I cranked it all the way up and could barely hear anything. I believe both the beta bass and the concert bass are 100 watt solid state amps. I have no idea why the beta bass is so loud and the concert bass is so quiet.

Side note: The guy that posted our video on youtube is going to upload more videos from that set. I'll post our last song in the same thread so you can hear the difference between my beta bass turned up to 5-6 VS the concert bass turned up to 10.

Hmm...

I think it has something to do with the amp going out, right before my Concert Bass fried at my band's last gig, it was really hard to hear and it was CRANKED.

Either way, I'm getting rid of it for something else.

Didn't mean to hijack the thread or anything. Monarch is killer by the way.

I think its really cool they rep the Concert Bass like that.
Get an awesome dirt pedal in front of it and it can do anything, quite powerfully I might add.

that's it, once you have powerful clean, you can do anything with it!

I'm listening to their 2 CD Dead Man Tell No Tales they gave me before they leave for France and the tone is massive and growling like hell!

And I have a scoop for you guys in the US...they're planning a US tour all around the US West and East sometimes in the coming year or next year...with other epic bands...!

keep posted from their myspace!

Black Cobra is sooo good.  They put on a great show.  Saw them a few years back with Sodhauler I believe.  Maybe it was Weedeater. Reguardless, Black Cobra stole the show that night.

Oh how I learned this since I picked up a Beta Bass.
Reading back on this thread I really used to rep the Concert Bass.
Anyway, I did and still do love the amp and between 2 of them it had been my main bass amp for years. But keep in mind, it reads 300 watts or something while the Beta series reads 100.
I did also own a Beta Lead though so one day I tried it, instant gratification. It was very Melvins-ish, like when the had the guy from Cows in the band. I knew I had to search for a Beta Bass.
It surpassed my expectations. Blows the Concerts and the Beta Lead away.
