Salome hail from Northern Va, and play a pretty dense breed of blackened sludgey doom. Their vocalist, Kat, gets most of the attention because, well, she's attractive, does vocals in Agoraphobic Nosebleed, and her voice makes Linda Blair sound like a choir boy.
Their guitarist, however, deserves some attention. He plays through a First Gen Model T, and it sounds predictably crushing -- bleak and terrifying in the vein of Khanate.
I believe they recently signed to Profound Lore records, and Relapse Records has been backing them as well. Good band. Good gear. And, hell, I'm shallow...their singer IS really cute.

Can't agree with this thread more.

I saw these guys with Hull and Batillus last year. All 3 bands were killer.
I even bought a Salome shirt. (who cares)

You can kind of see it here, just the front panel of it and a Sunn cab of some sort.

I could have sworn I saw him using a Mesa in a video I watched. Maybe he switched or was borrowing it or something.
Sorry to kind of derail this, but reguardless of what type of amp is used, Batillus slays Salome. Both are sweet for sure though.

I agree about Batillus. Any doom band with keys/synths is ok by me. I'm not an especially big fan of Salome, but they're local, and I have that whole local band pride thing. Northern Va has cranked out some killer groups (Enemy Soil, anyone?).
Batillus' live setup is pretty amazing.

in my top 5 band! they made me go for drop A on my baritone...haha! their sound is the best I ever eard! I think the white lespaul kind of guitar is hollow bodied? it might have to do with the unique sound too! and the vocals are kick ass!
