Sweet rig man. Wish I had more Sunn stuff to show you guys or a band to play it in. Still working on getting some 10"s for my 6x10S.
Hey, do you have any Leech albums?
-
Ya it sucks really badly. I only need three more, but will probably end up buying 6 new ones. I'll probably sell the 3 Transducers that work to someone if they're interested in only 3.
Oh. Well I listened to your recording and the person that posted it(I believe the username was like ****** or something like that) some how is associated with Leech, a black metal band from Oregon(I believe). The user who uploaded the recording was linked to a bunch of their songs and I was just wondering if it was you. I heard them years ago on myspace and then one day I looked for them and their page was gone. Hadn't heard them again until last night and got really excited. Thought I'd ask.

Hey Paul, nice A212! I love mine. It brings the doom, and sounds HUGE! Are you powering another cab with it, or are you just using it as a combo?
I also see you're using a Beta Bass head. I thought about picking this one up ...
http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/msg/1292475106.html
... but it seems pretty weak to me, power wise. Only 100watts @ 4ohms. Does it supply enough power to both your 4x10" and 15" cabs? Another downside is the non-active inputs on those things. I really like using the active pickups on the Jaguar bass, as it sounds way more meatier.
-
I'll post some pics of my Sunn PB-10 Beta Preamplifier ran through my Sunn Sceptre with my Laney 4x12 cab with Sunn logo on it soon. The PB-10 I only won on ebay yesterday so it should arrive next week or early the week after. It's already been shipped.
Btw, apart from enabling you to switch channels, what does the "both channels" input do in the Beta Series amps? Don't tell me that you can blend two channels together and even have twice the gain. I'll freak out if you can do that! The tone would be monstrous, eee!
:)

Wow! Just wow! Elu of The Nine is amazing!!! I love this stuff! Occult drone doom? Yeaaaahh! This is the best extreme doom metal I've heard since Asunder's A Clarion Call record. Elu of The Nine, my new favourite band, what a find!! And that rig is just amazing. Love the black and white photo in particular. And damn, I want a A212 now. Never seen one before. It's the only Sunn combo I like the look of.
:-D
-
I play in a doom metal band called GATE (gah-tey) which is Sanskrit for emptiness.
www.myspace.com/gatedoom
here is a pic of my rig:
I also have a concert bass that needs to be fixed, once that is repaired I will use it to power the 2x10x1x18 cab.
-
the A212 is the best Sunn combo I've heard, I really can't recommend them enough. Someone on the Portland craigslist a few years back was selling one that had been retolexed solid white with a black grill!
Behold, the off-white beast!

You bought that?? You live in Portland?? Let's put our A212s to work!

You bought that?? You live in Portland?? Let's put our A212s to work!
Indeed! It was up on Craigslist last October, and I bought it for $500. At the time the tubes were only 2 weeks old, all JJ's - 4 x 12XA7's and 2 x KT88's. He also had an internal bias pot installed at the same time he had those tubes put in and biased. Needless to say, I got a damn good deal.
Are you in Portland now, or are you still in down in Salem?
-
Dude awesome rig!! what era is the Model T? also that 6x10 looks more like the 6x12, is it? Crushing doom to be found at that link for sure, far too heavy for myspace! Are you the one of with the Kramer? seriously heavy! I need to get myself one of those aluminum necks... anyway let's do a split LP/tape! check out the Elu of the Nine stuff and see if you're down with the drone..
Thanks! Your rig looks like it would do some serious damage as well. Unfortunatly the Model T is a fender reissue, but I will make do with it untill I find a first or second gen. I wish I had a sunn 6x12, but that is indeed a 6x10. It is fuuny that you metioned doing some sort of split, that song on myspace is the one we wanted to use for a split. I will share the links to your stuff, to the others and see what they think. I do love drone/doom, GATE is something i have been trying to start over the course 10+ years. So yeah I am down with doing something. Send me a PM and i will give my email so we can work out the idea of this split.

I'm not in a band, but I play doom metal through my amplifiers. Mostly jamming to bands like Zoroaster, Sleep, Church of Misery, you know, those sort of bands. Anyway, I stacked up my amps just for the fun of it, and here's what it looked like.
Btw, does anyone know anything about my 100 watt British solid state combo? It's the amp underneath the PB-10. My dad has had this combo since the seventies and it's unbranded. All it says on it is Lead 100, and it's got a 100 watt celestion speaker in it. I can't remember what model speaker. I'll have a look in a bit and re-post. We have no idea who made this combo. It doesn't really matter too much, cos it sounds pretty muddy and lacks brightness and treble. I've been using my PB-10 through it, and it's been powering the Laney 4x12 (Sunn badge on it) via a loudspeaker socket in the back of the combo. It sounds far from what the PB-10 should sound like through a tube amp and a 4x12, but hey, I don't have two step-down transformers at the moment to run the PB-10 through the Sceptre.
And the photo is a bit poor, my camera is extremely cheap and small, my friend gave it to me when he got a new one, and as it turns out, he's lost his in the house somewhere as of yesterday. I even took the pic with the bedroom light on and the flash on the camera, ah well.

Big ups on Church of Misery! Iron Monkey fan by chance?
Just so everyone knows, I'll be taking some pictures of my stuff within 2 weeks. I don't play just doom. I also play in a sludge band as well. I also don't have much Sunn stuff, but I have a couple things.
-
i hope i can get a pix up of my shitload of Model TEEZ someday
-
Yeah, I like Iron Monkey a lot. I have their self-titled CD and the Our Problem CD. I saw Church of Misery a short while ago in Birmingham, England. I recorded them, a bootleg. If you want to hear it, drop me a PM and we'll discuss how I'll get the files to you.
El Padrino, off the new album has got killer riffs!
-
If you could upload that to mediafire and post a link, that'd be pretty badass(the COM bootleg).

Ya, I too have their S/T. I got it at a local record shop for $7, but I've looked around and seen the CD go for as much as $199. I also used to have the We've Learned Nothing split cd which was with Church of Misery. It was a promotional copy, but it was stolen from me. I was pissed. Trying to get it back. I found out who took it and made the kid give me $40.
Thanks for the upload.
-
The bootleg came out amazingly well, you can hear all the members of the band, but I must let you know, I recorded it in mono, since I only had a mono microphone and couldn't afford to grab a new stereo one before the gig. You can't tell it's in mono anyway, just sounds like any other set of bootleg mp3s, only a good recording. I have the whole show in one file, including the bit of the encore I managed to fit onto the disc in 320kbps, but I exported wav cut up into tracks at 160kbps. It's a fair bitrate, half of 320, so it's not low, I hope you enjoy listening to it all.
:-D
-
Oh, I actually spoke to Tom, the guitarist in Church of Misery at the show, and he told he had a Sunn Model T, as his main amplifier. So I told him I had a Sceptre, and he'd never heard of it, haha. He used a Marshall JCM800 that night that the band had hired, sounded killer!

(http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/6656/86121213.png) (http://img401.imageshack.us/i/86121213.png/)
this is my sunn equipment for my band High and Mighty. we've got 4x12 towers, sunn 412L with a marshall jcm 2000, a sunn 2x15 with a peavey mark III, a 1970 3x12 with a 70 sunn sceptre
(not pictured, its in the shop) i also have a 71 1x15 and a concert slave (also not pictured)
-
That shit rules. I've never seen monitor towers with the yellowish cloth before - looks awesome! actually I've never even heard of that model.. any recordings?
-
A kind in my city that plays in a power violence band plays two of those towers. I guess he got them for like $300 or something like that. Sunn stuff is huge in my city. It's probably the most sought after amp maker here.
-
i dont have any recordings up yet, but hopefully soon. which city do you live in Addam? i live about 15 minutes south of philadelphia and while they're some sunn followers most people dont care about it. i got those towers for $100 from a recording studio, and believe me they're huge, atleast 5 feet tall, and ive never seen any with the 3 tweeters on the top before these ones. the bass rig used to be my friend's but he moved to portland,OR (ironic, huh?) and left it in my old drummer's basement for years and was given to me a few month's ago because his mom said it took up too much space. the 412L was picked up by my current drummer for $250 and the marshall head for $500. i got my sceptre stack for $550 off craigslist, where i also got my 1x15 and concert slave for $100. we play a cross between doom and harcore and i cant believe how loud this shit gets, and the speakers can take so much low end which is the best part, but i'm still trying to get a 1st or 2nd generation model t like everyone else here
-
I live in Omaha, Nebraska.
Sunn amps here are being bought up so fast. Every one wants them, but no one ever sells them, usually.
-
I just got the 60's 2x15, which I might run with the Traynor head in this picture. Otherwise, 73 1st Gen Model T, (2)612S, Traynor YBA-1A MKII, late 60's 215.
We don't have a van at this point, so playing my entire set-up isn't really possible in a live setting.

This is my situation and I have less than you do.
-
I think I'm just picky. It's hard to find the perfect 'creepy molester' van with circular one-way windows, let alone that in a matte black. I'd feel wrong driving to and from shows in anything less.

That rig is immense. I've got to find a space echo! have you recorded that whole thing running together?

The space echo was a deal of a lifetime. $150 and it's in pristine condition.
I haven't recorded with the set-up yet, mainly because I haven't had a chance to. I just picked the 215 up a few days ago, and getting the two 612s to the studio in a car isn't gonna happen. I've mainly been tracking through a 412L(would love to find a second one, killer 4x12), but we're going to be doing some floor recordings in the space, so I'll be able to hear it in full effect very soon. I think the YBA-1A will be great for getting nice low bass tones.
-
So, for purposes of bi-amplification, can anyone suggest something beyond a plain old ABY switch? I know there's that bit of signal loss, so what would you all suggest?
-
analog stereo delay!! there is no other way!
-

Which unit would you suggest? I'm all antsy now.
-
I use an electro-harmonix deluxe memory man and a DOD 680 analog delay and it works very well with rigs stacked up on opposite sides of the room. even if you aren't hooking up massive rigs both pedals are great for dark-sounding drone/space atmosphere.. the memory man is kind of like Godspeed You! Black Emperor in a box, though I believe they actually use a real space echo.. still sounds great.

I'm looking at the Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai, but I've thought about running both amps through the Space echo. I'll maybe go to the space and try it tonight, and let you know what's what!
Edit: Wound up buying the SMM. Love it! Can't wait to hook it up and run the rig!
-
hey nice thread!
I worship Sunn Amps and lead a doom stoner sludge band...and I'm working on a drone doom ambiant project by myself...
I'm the only string player in my band (scream, baritone and drum) so I manage to sound huge! baritone lespaul and Sunn Amps...
Here's the pics I've took when I just came back from getting those 2 baby in mint condition for a awazingly low price!
I'm looking to get a 3rd amp (1971 Sunn Solarus with 1x15 Sunn Cab) this weekend if it's not sold already...the more amp the more voices...the more huge is the tone!
A DMM is amazing on 2 amps...on each side...I now have a Laney head in a Traynor 2x15 just for the fx out of the DMM...
2 Big Muff, one Bass on the Sonaro and the Wicker on Laney and Solarus...use the dry/direct outs to split the signals...no lost!
I'll post pics of my actual setup later...I need 3 mics the record the 3 different voices...hahaha!
Keep the Doom alive!
-
(http://i594.photobucket.com/albums/tt27/epoirier21/lafamilleSunn.jpg)
Damn! So clean and aesthetically flowing! Are there any recordings of this rig?
what kind of cabs are those? Looks to be 15s or 18s?
Thanks!
It's actually 2 small cabs, 1x15 close back Sunn Transducer on bottom and a 2x12 open-back Vintage Fender on top.
What's nice is that they are from the same year but from two different owners...they are mint, just one as some nicotine smokey on the grill...apparently use to be in a stripclub..god know what they have seen...hahaha!
Hopefully I'll have a youtube tomorrow...I'm doing a outdoor show today with my doom stoner sludge psychadelic band...Molusk Repu...
And there's more Sunn coming in the family...i'll take a family picture when setup...! I just hope the 2nd potential buyer don't gets it before me...I'm a fanatic.

For now I use a Solarus / 215 and Sonaro / 1x15+1x15, it's ballsy as hell!
I have one Solarus KT-88 gone for a full recap...can't wait to ear it at full power with the tremolo...!

I think I just made an adult mess in my pants -- that is a physically attractive setup.

Not much and not exactly set up together. Just bought a house, so slowly moving everything and figure I would take a pic together.
Beta Lead Combo
SL 260
2 412
Concert Slave

So, for purposes of bi-amplification, can anyone suggest something beyond a plain old ABY switch? I know there's that bit of signal loss, so what would you all suggest?
Z-Vex Super Hard-On. Best pedal ever! Clean boost with two outputs... Makes your guitar and amp sound like your guitar and amp, but bigger. They aren't cheap, but I can clone one for about half the price of a used one. Just thought I'd put that out there.
-
RMR, are you selling that slave? I feel like I remember just seeing that photo on some random craiglist ad..
-
Hahaha I am, Phoenix. I have come across a lot of gear lately, so much set up has changed a lot... I am selling most in the picture now, Beta Lead, Slave. Have Concert Lead, 610L, and the two 412's
-
Hmmm.. I see.. how much is is the 610L and the non-wire-grill 4x12? and I guess the concerts as well..
-
www.whenthedeadboltbreaks.com
-
That's a sweet kit!
I wich I could find a 4x12 or a 6x12 like this! amazing.
I'm listening to the myspace, I like it!
-
Thanks man. I tend to switch between the 1200s and my Model T. I actually just got the model t back yesterday. I had KT88's put in there... its mean as hell now!
-
Thanks man. I tend to switch between the 1200s and my Model T. I actually just got the model t back yesterday. I had KT88's put in there... its mean as hell now!
I ear ya!
I just got my Solarus 80w all re-tubed with JJ's KT-88 and recap...man this thing is loud and clean!
It can barely be use with the volume at 3 or 4 because it would mute the rest of the band just on clean...so with the dirt...forget it!
If the T is a double dose of that, I can see your band mate have loads of amps and cabs and a big drum to compete...haha.
The drive of that amp is what I lack in my older Sunn era but I like dirt pedal. If you ever get to record a sample of that I would love to ear it. or even with your fav dirt pedal...just need the tone..hehe
In my band I'm the only string for now so I use a Sonaro bass kit also...later it could be use by a bassist...I have a 2nd Solarus on standby for a complete tune-up to be use for my stereo fx...this one will definitly need a 412 or 612...later.
-
Luckily, my other guitarist uses a organge cabs and a 300T head, and my bassist has a crazy carvin set up. So, volume isnt an issue! we are in the studio now, so I will record some sound clips and figure out how to post em here for you to check out. The OxFuzz pedal is the best fuzz I have used. And I have a ton of fuzzes! With the Model T and the KT88's, it sounds like a demon growling. F@ckin amazing.
-
I will record some sound clips and figure out how to post em here for you to check out
I use soundclick.com, it's pretty easy for uploads, and you can embed the soundclick player in your myspace and everywhere so you just have one player to update.
Oh yeah I love Fuzz too, but I'm waiting my BYOC Mighty Mouse( a 6 mod Rat Distorsion/Overdrive...) to come in...that will be mate with my Bass Big Muff that growls like mad on the Sonaro 2x15! can wait to ear that.
-
^^Dear god, a 300T for guitar? I use a 300pro with bass and it's ferkin loud, but with guitar? Damn. I tried my Les Paul through it once into an ampeg 115, and it physically hurt me with the master on two and channel 2 on 3.
-

Nice! I wish I could find a bassman with a sunn rig who would like to play in a stoner sludge band...
I'm searching for a new drummer in Montreal by the way...!
I'm a true EHX and Sunn junky!
-
Hahaha, I wish I was able to go as DOOM as I'd really want to but the other two guys in my band help keep everything at a much quicker pace and I guess keep me from getting too far lost, haha. But hardly any of the parts I write ever end up getting used, maybe we can be in a border-crossing/tape-trading band.

that's why it's hard to find a drummer who wish to go as minimalist as doom music...
it's all in the intensity not complexity, I'm doing midi and home recording for now, I might have some stuff to exchange later...
maybe we should start another thread on that...doom on!

Nice rig! :-o
Thanks! I've been salivating over the set ups I've seen in this thread ever since I joined.

My guitars are on rotation and change often because I buy, sell and trade when the itch gets me. This is my current stuff minus a Washburn Dime and an old Alverez which are in their cases. :-D

Man you guys have some cool stuff.
Snarzdar...man that Greco bass is awesome !

I found out that my bass was the Suzy Quatro signature bass. She didn't have much of a career in the states, but I guess she was pretty big overseas in the 70s. She was best known in the US as Fonzies girlfriends little sister on happy days. EVIL.
Your axe arsenal is pretty awesome by the way. I'd like to get a legit thunderbird one day, but I'm pretty happy with my Suzie Q Bass for the moment.

nice, I love 15" for guitar it push all the lows Sunn amps can give!
the 612 would be nice to tight-up part of my tone for the faster section...but it's still good with just 15"...hehe!
have fun!
If ever come across a bassman who use rigs like you guys I hired him right away!
-
Yea man I like it ! :-D My 2x15 cabinet with my bass rig is a 205, I have run my beta lead into it before just to see what it would sound like and it rocked ! :-D Congrats man, nice rig.

I don't have the Sunn recorded yet, I'll be using it in the studio next month fo sho. We recorded our last two studio songs with Orange Rockerverb 100 and a Matamp GTO120. We will be doing a full studio album and using my Sunn (it is a 1983 Sunn Enforcer pre-Fender buyout and I use a 1970 Sunn cab with it, just nuts - heavy as f#%k is the only way to describe, very pissed off sounding), the Rockerverbs, the Matamp, and an a 74 Orange OR120. I haven't even played a gig with it yet - I will be tomorrow night, we are doing a last minute show as a favor to our singers friend (on a Sunday night, yuk). I blew a speaker in the cab so its getting repaired now (has Sunn Transducers in it) but I'll be using a a really cool purple tolex special edition 80s Marshall cab with Celestion V30s tomorrow for the show (belongs to our other guitarist).
Band is Orthodox Fuzz http://www.myspace.com/orthodoxfuzz out of Fort Worth, TX...

thanks, yeah the vocal is just the line out of a behringer vocal amp with onboard fx...it does it for a jam recording but it's gonna be better on my real recording setup...
-
Keep me posted.
-
Yeah, Chev. Those practice recordings are legit.
Personally, I'm more fond of lo fi recordings anyways.
-
Played my Enforcer at a gig for the first time the other night - I played through a Marshall cab with V30s since my 1970 Sunn cab is in the shop. Sounded amazing, I didn't think it was very loud through that Marshall but damn, in a big open room it REALLY projected well, I was surprised. In practice I play it on 8 through that cab (lower even through the Sunn cab) and it seems only moderately loud, but we were killing the sound guy and I turned it down to 6 and it was still very loud. Sounded huge and fuzzy just the way I like it and meshed very well with the other guitarist "Black" Matamp GTO 120. In fact I was getting so much bass response out of it, I played on my Flying V's bridge pickup (500T) which I never do, that brightened it up enough. It is interesting how different room will react to different amps.

that fender amp in there throws off the pix for me-purist that i am 8-)

oh yeah!! that must be loud! 3 model T!!! OMG!
here's a last pic of my actual setup, looking forward to move in a bigger practice room...wil have space for my 3rd head...Solarus into Traynor 2x15...by the time I find a decent 4x12 or even better a 6x12!
I'm working on some more clips to come of that session, I'm happy I finally found my drummer who's a co-worker!
He as a black doom background and were gonna mix that with my sludge doom preference...so it's gonna be super fast and super slow...with a dark ambiance at all time! oh yeah! I'm also going in the Drop A route on my baritone...got low-end!
clips to come...

I have a chance to buy one of those for $375 in excellent shape (A212). I guess I should go put it on layaway, its at my favorite used gear store.
-
here's an ruff cut/edit from my last jam. some cut are strange but it's just a start for building the structure.
we will record it straight at the next session...there's no lyrics for now but my screamer will write them accordingly to the structure...

My "new" rig.
Got the Sunn Concert Bass about a month ago, picked up the Ampeg 8x10e last week ($450 almost new!). And yes the head is resting on the edges of the foot cups on the cab, damn you Ampeg!
Working on getting a Sunn Concert Lead *again* and a pair of Marshall Lead 1960B cabs.

Nice rig! you've got yourself a great start! you might need en shelf back there or put the head aside cause it's gonna fall with the bass getting out of this monster. My Solarus head did a 90 deg spin the first time I put it on top of the 2x15 cab! I found some new big rubber feet to fix that...! got low-end...! hehe. I should have done a youtube of it...!haha
-
Thanks!
Haha Oh jeez. Yeah I'm gonna figure out something, but for now it's not going to be very high volume anyways so it can wait til I get the perfect solution.
-
I can see that the rubber feet on your head looks better than the one I had.
mine were 40 years old, small hard plastic feet! wouldn't hold anything! :|
-
On mine they're a very hard rubber and slide on the tolex of the Ampeg cab. I had a Concert Lead that had no rubber feet so that was a bummer.
-
yikes no rubber feet! not good at all!
yeah, and if rubber gets old, it becomes hard plastic too...no good.
Since I found an electronic warehouse where they sold pack of 4 heavy duty rubber feet for 2,50$ CAD I just bought the all stock and put them on all my heads and cabs too...! :-D
-
I took this tonight.

Loving the artwork, but I don't think I would personally put them on the cabs. I've never been a fan of art on cabs, but they're cool designs none the less.
-
I hear ya. I wouldn't do anything on the Tolex, but the screens are easy to replace. I'm not to worried about it. I don't plan on selling them any time soon. :)
-
Chev, how does this sound?
Getting a plywood board the fits the top of my 8x10 and putting rubber feet that match the cups in the cab on it then putting my Concert Bass on top of it and somehow finding a way a way it attached to the board without altering the amp.
-
hi,
usually there's suppose to be a big metal handle in the back angled section.
you could put let say a few layers of bike tubes with zip-tie holding it to support the back of the amp and give it some grip and cushion and put 2 new rubber feet on the front of the amp by using the original hole of the present rubber feet. how's that.
or use the handle to support the plywood in the back?
I would have to see one cab in real to make sure it fits but maybe you got some hints to start?
some pics from the side would help to better know the depth of the cab vs the amp...
perhaps some beta bass head users could help you better on this because I never saw one in real so it's hard to guess the size of it.
but I'm pretty sure you'll find a way, you're on the right forum to ask! :-D
you could always post your question in a new thread with some pics, there's a lot of helpful people here!
good luck!
-
Interesting.
Well the only reason I'm asking is because I would rather not maim a Concert Bass in almost perfect condition by changing the position of the rubber feet on the bottom of it.
-

ok, so just use the original holes and screws to replace the feet, that's what I used.
-
They still wont line up with the feet cups on the top of my cab though... unless you mean screwing the board in where the feet are which isn't a half bad idea.
-

yeah that would work good and not arm your mint amp.
you can check if it can hold on top without using the the feet cups...? if not go with the ply option.
but I want some clips in exchange of my consultation lol! or a youtube of the head holding there as a proof...haha!
you make me wanna buy a 810 SVT cab as my 3rd cab instead of a 4x12...haha I'm also looking at Mesa Cabs with V30...hum! for my 2nd Solarus...since I can'tfind any 612 Sunn cab...or an 612 Electric Amp would be nice...ah here you got me started lol!
-
I used to put my Concert Lead without feet on top of amps, it seemed to hold OK.
I can go record a sample right now. My garage is rigged as a studio.
8x10s don't do well for guitar TBH, you might wanna a try 2x15
-

yeah but I already own two 2x15...haha, I want something tighter sounding for a 3rd cab...either 12 or 10''.
but I don't ha ve a regular guitar tone at all, drop A1 at 55Hz with 70-13 on a baritone! it's super low.
my friend coverted a 412 Marshall Full cab in a 410 bass cab and it sound awesome with my baritone...it's tighter and can push the low end good too.
-
I've found this in the adds for 685$ CAD! ok it still 2x15 but looks gorgeous! :-o

There's a nasty buzzing noise going on in the recordings, and I kinda did the levels too loud. I'll have some decent ones by tonight.
-
ok there's no rush, take your time.
I'm just craving to go blast some heavy riffs on my babys...next jam on monday yeah!
-
This I would like! you can even put 2 heads on it, 1 Solarus on each 3x12 side for stereo fx...oh yeah!

I'm more into dual 4x12s. But those amps are pretty damn rad, not exactly Sunn though...
-
Getting an IMMACULATE red knob Concert Lead this week and hopefully at least one new straight 4x12 to start my guitar rig.

I took this tonight.

oh yeah! got dual T's! nice rig!
by the way, can you share what pick-ups you use? I'm looking to change mine and I want to preserve the tone of the amp as much as possible but get an extra edge for power chord...the guitar fetish pick-ups looks pretty sweet...another thread perhaps...

Thanks, Years in the making. I not to sure but when I bought the guitar The dude said they were dimarzio Super distortion.
-
I keep hearing the DiMarzio SD's are the way to go. I invested in some of the Gibson Tony Iommi pickups, and I've gotta say, I wasn't blown away. I might swap them into my Viper and see how they sound as opposed to the active EMGs, though.
Otherwise, I'll just sell them and get an SD for my bridge.
-
If you want to hear what the super distortions sound like check out parasam gâte it is a song my band did a rough demo of it starts off in the middle of the song. Only recorded one guitar track the only effect is a proco rat distortion pedal. Here is the link:
http://www.myspace.com/gatedoom (http://www.myspace.com/gatedoom)
Also I have been reading about these pick ups Dimarzio has called D-Sonic's. It is a double coil humbucker bridge pickup. if you buy the set it comes with a Air Norton neck pickup. Depending on how you in stall the D-Sonic, it can either bring out the lows or it can bring out the highs for soloing they read really cool, but not sure how they sound. I am considering picking up a set and having it installed in my Ibanez PF300.
Here is the write up from sam ash direct:
Dimarzio DP207 D Sonic Humbucker Electric Guitar Pickup
Introducing DiMarzio's first heavy humbucker of the 21st century. The DiMarzio® D Sonic™ is a high-output bridge humbucker designed for the extended low end and heavy chords that dropped tuning delivers, plus serious treble response for single-note solos and standard tuning. The D Sonic™ isn't just a one-sound pickup, either. In addition to the standard series humbucking sound, our patented design utilizes four-conductor wiring to access two different single-coil sounds plus parallel humbucking mode, for three additional sounds that are distinctive and versatile.
Recommended For: Solid body guitars, bridge position.

cool, I love your tone on the myspace link!
The D-sonic looks pretty good for my drop A bari...but I've ordered a pair of GFS Vintage 59 VEH for 70$ which is the price of the D-Sonic bridge alone.
I'll see how it sounds, I think I'll swap the bridge with the D-sonic if I don't like it...I would like to be able to use both pick-ups without being too muddy and keep the attack. It gives more thump this way but loose the clarity so, for now, I use just the bridge.
thanks

-
I need to take pics of my Concert Lead and Concert Bass side by side on their respective cabs...
-
Just got this rig yesterday. It's in way better condition than my other Concert Bass. And of course 2 15's sound so much better than my 4X10.

I HATE you.
All kidding aside, NICE.
Just took my Concert Bass in to get repaired AGAIN, and waiting on some dude to get back from a trip to ship me a 215B he's got waiting for me.
-
Better get youself ready for what that 215B can do, man. Better make sure everything on the walls is secure.
-
I've got a Ampeg SVT 8x10e, and here I am thinking a 2x15 is scaling down... :-P

Haha Don't get me wrong the right fridge can push a ton of air.
For some reason though 15's just sound awesome and different than 10's
They have tons of guts and low end.
-
I love my fridge, except it doesn't match and it moves TOO much air. But it's good to hear that the 215B is going to be equally as powerful.

here's my actual setup in my new practice room...I can now play my 3 heads like always which, I did lots of upgrades lately...

my pedal board have been re-structured:
I did a clip today with the setup in the picture, the center Bass amp is not recorded but I have 2 room mics that get it a bit
I only use the Superchard OD and Bass Big Muff no reverb in this clip, I also did a drone improv on my amps I'll post later on...
http://soundclick.com/share?songid=9397663
I just miss a Shure Beta 52 to mic the center bass amp...
In the middle of the clip you here the bass amp anyway, when I remove the standby.
if you recognize it, it's a riff from EyeHateGod - My Name Is God
enjoy!
-
Chev, is that just egg shell cartons on the walls? How does that work as far as deadening the room goes? I've heard sooo many people say it's a myth and it doesn't work at all.
Also, I love that Cathedral reverb and if I had more money would totally buy one. So jealous.

-
Chev, is that just egg shell cartons on the walls? How does that work as far as deadening the room goes? I've heard sooo many people say it's a myth and it doesn't work at all.
Back in the day we would use egg carton sleves to deaden the room. It really works quite well. The principal is to diffuse the sound so it doesn't bounce around. Some of that old long shag carpet from the 60's and 70's works pretty well also. The best stuff is still the accoustic foam panels.
-
What thread is that from?
-
hey chev, how are you running tri-amplification on your pedal poard? i see a few pedals withs with a b outputs, just wondering how you put it all together. and are you running 2 1x15's parallel so you can use all 4 cabs?

Also, I love that Cathedral reverb and if I had more money would totally buy one. So jealous.
the egg shell works good at deadening the room but no more, we're renting the room and it was already setup like that, it's very good for recording.
all the reverb really comes from the pedal itself, but it's off in the clip. just 2 dirt dry into 3 amps, but the bass amp is not mic...like in the picture, but you can ear it in the middle of the clip, standby off...!
yeah the cathedral totally worth every $, specially for feeding 2 amps...!

yeah! ahah, I need the lehle 1in/3out...! so I can control each amp!

bass big muff, dry/fx, it all start from there. the cathedral split the guitar tone in 2 for stereo. bass big muff is in the center stack and supercharged OD in the left and right stacks...all the fx are on the stereo amps only.
the center amp has the bass big muff fx and feed the 2 1x15 8ohm cabs in // for a min load of 4 ohm.

Voodoo Labs make a pedal that can run 4 amps simultaneously. It can be programed as well. I have tied to find these but they are hard to come by. I have seen them on eBay but the usually run a couple hundred bucks. Again nice rig man!!!

wow! that's brillant. I'll need one soon enough!

hey I just found this one for a lot cheaper, just want to let you know:

check eBay for the Morley ABY. I just scored one for $30
-
cool, got my Morley ABC...will re-setup my all board with it...LS-2 for FX and SFT for bass rowling....! I'm stoked!
-
I can't praise the Radial ABY enough. Solid, passive, and I got mine for $30 on Craigslist.
-
Hi all!
I reconfigured my setup lately and my pedal board too with the ABC switch so I tought I could post the updated pics:
I've swap the Solarus going into the 2x15 with the Sonaro to get my bass tone, much better with the extra low end coming from the SFT!
And the Solarus into the two 1x15", it has a bit less low end so they work better, I think they're due for a speaker change because they're original and definitly not used to take extreme dirt...I might get 2 more Emi Big Ben because after A/B testing everything, they're excellent and keep getting better with the break-in...!
and here's what's feeding them, redid the all board to get it more usable in live scenario...either band or droning...
Enjoy!

Here is the set up we used for a show the other day, I took this picture before we set up the drums.

I traded one of my beta bass heads for the earth head and cabinet. I recently bought a beta lead and footswitch (seperately). The head needs a little work so once it's fixed it will probably replace the 5150.

Also.. chev you need to move to St. Louis and join my band.
-
Let me know if you do, Chev. I'll be in the audience! :-)
-
YOU'LL NEVER SELL THAT STUDIO BASS, CLD!
That was the last thing I said before putting my foot in my mouth.
-
REALLY stoked to go get my Concert Bass this weekend and take it back up with me to my place in SF. Picked up a 215B for it and I have my Concert Lead and a nice Marshall cab to go with it. Pics soon.
Snarzdar, nice. You should find a way to stack everything neatly, then your already beastly rig would be a beastly wall.
-
Also.. chev you need to move to St. Louis and join my band.
yeah, I still can't get a drummer that enjoy listening and playing some straight minimalist sludge doom...always too metal, death or black... :x
so to accomodate, I'm playing some death doom or trash sludge...
but it's still too much palm muting and rhythm for him:? I'm in drop A with a baritone for a reason! I'm not going back to standard tuning quitar, no thanks!
I might have to move then...haha, my gf won't...
thanks for offering!
-
Let me know if you do, Chev. I'll be in the audience! :-)
thanks!
I can't wait to get out there and show how Sunn's can melt faces...but it's not my band priority...we have to release 1st...I think I'm the most enthousiast about getting out there...I need to either calmdown and wait or get into another project! I'm pumped and all geared up now!
-
You can always record your own stuff. Before we took our band too seriously and decided to get a real drummer and play live we did tracking in garage band and made drums in reason. Those are the demos we put on our myspace. I think the fake drums sound good (for fake drums). We are actually getting our act together and recording in an actual studio in about a month. (actually we are recording an EP and our sides for a split 7 inch and a split 12 inch in one day.
WORKER BEES!

kinda like walt doggs rig
the cab will be a 215B
now I just need to save up the money for the amp switchers and upgrade some pedals

Haha, my job is to waste away in front of a desk so my brain gets carried away thinking sometimes. but regardless, I picked up the Beta Bass head last night. Sounds good, until I russle up the money for the switchers I'm gonna work on using channel A with the VT Bass for thundering lows and light up the B Channel w/ the Rat & DS1 and maybe an env filter. Gotta dig out one of my old stero pedals I guess. Also I'm thinking an epic Solid State stacking is in order for some good pics finally, maybe this weekend.

this is my current set-up

Nice rig Matt!

Nice rig Matt!
OMG! I second that! amazing rig! you must scare the drummer with that lol!
-
what kind of music do you do w/ that huge-ass rig?

Matt's rig is pretty much what my whole band's set up is gonna be like, jeez... And I was excited about my band using a wall of amps.

Awesome! I quit using my overdrive pedals recently. The Beta Bass sounds too good! I run the drive on my A channel at around 1 o'clock now. I was keepoing the drive dialed back and using 2 different overdrive pedals. Now I plug my bass into a tuner, and the tuner into the amp. The end.

Oh yeah. We played with Weedeater on Wednesday. Dixie Dave was playing through a concert bass>concert slave>2 215 cabinets (not sure what kind of cabs they were).

thinking about putting my Sonaro head on that since I can't find anymore decent bass sunn cab for now...and getting a 5 string bass tuned Drop-A soon or later...more low-end! haha!

Yeah, just got some time with the Beta Bass finally and man you weren't kidding, turning the drive up turns this thing into a monster. It takes pedals great too obviously but since it's not really meant to be fun flat it doesn't sound so great with my VT Bass pedal. Thats okay though as the VT sound stellar running into the "Power Amp In" jack on the back of my Concert Bass.
I think I'm gonna simplifiy my approach by about 1,000 and just buy a few pedals and maybe a looper instead of the amp switchers.

Oh, it def blows it out of the water. The ratings are completely bogus in comparison to eachother. I don't think I'll be pulling out the Concert Bass unless I'm playing in a really seedy bar or something, haha or until I run a dual rig setup.

With all this talk about the Beta Bass, might just trade in my Concert Bass for one...

VERY NICE. ive been looking for a 2nd 412l for a while now, that full stack looks great
is that an old boss x-tortion pedal (red) i see on the ground?
-
Thanks for all the feedback & kind words dudes! I haven't been on here much, been extremely busy with these two projects I have at hand right now.
@ Walt: indeed man, that top one 8-) Thanks again man!
@ Stan: the time is near my friend... We're looking for a venue as we speak I'll be contacting you when we figure out what's going on, the original plan fell through so we're thinking possibly the Stork Club or maybe somewhere in SF (which would kick ass for you!). We gotta see some pics of your setup! Stan's setup blows mine away, by far.
@Matt: Yeah the 412L's come and go. There was one point where I kept seeing them over and over again on ebay and craigslist for really good prices. Some guy nearby I think was selling an unloaded one for $50!!! It was promptly sold though. The pedal setup in that pic (from Right to Left): Tuner, modified RAT, modified Big Muff PI, Boss DM2 (OLD boss delay pedal), Way Huge Aqua Puss delay (yes, 2 delay pedals, I'll throw some live footage up when we create sonic mass with the stanosaur to show exactly why), Boss BF-2 Flanger, Dunlop Crybaby Wah (soon to hopefully be replaced by a Iron Parachute wah) and that's all going into my Morley A/B/Y box. In the process of getting a Phase Wizard from Gentry of Eagle Twin as I think Stan is too if he hasn't already. Also, stay tuned for more Model T's and possibly... an SG!?
Our drummer's setup is pretty ridiculous too (don't know if there's any drummers on here). All his Toms are basically the size of Floor toms :-o dude plays a weird style, it's like open handed/righty/lefty. It works for him though, super loud.

I found a picture of a rig I used to own back in 1979. A 350L (Notice the stubbys) I had just turned 19. Didnt know how good I had it and returned the amp to get out of payments and bought a Fender bassman setup instead. (Wish I still had THAT) Fortunately I am enjoying my electrically restored 69 Solarus Head (40 watt) that I now possess.

P90's :-D Not sure which brand, but they sound incredible regardless.

P90's :-D Not sure which brand, but they sound incredible regardless.
cool, and P-90 are singlecoil and still has enough power I guess?
if I can use 2 P-90 bridge & neck at the same time and not getting too much mud, I would be more than happy! :-D
I might try these just too see if like the kind of tone 1st:
http://store.guitarfetish.com/Mean-90-Gloss-Black-TRUE-Alnico-P90-FAT-and-Loud-_c_132.html
thanks for the info!

correct, P90's are Single Coils BUT, don't sound the same (to me, anyways) as the typical strat style single coils. They're far more aggressive sounding, but they do sound pretty "stratty" when they're clean which is good. They're real diverse sounding, and rolling the tone knob around actually makes a huge difference in the sound of 'em. Then again, you gotta look at what your guitar is made out of as well.
That was the bridge pickup btw.

I'm getting a set of Mean 90, just ordered them, just want to ear how it sounds...if I don't like them their's plenty of other kind to try...
-
Whoa, Les Paul Baritone!? NICE! I didn't know EPI made 'em. Yeah you're good man, you'll be in business. Keep in mind, P90's are pretty bright and mid rangy, but like I said, that tone knob on the guitar makes a huge difference

more mids is good I think because the baritone has tons of low end but less mids ans highs...I usually leave the Tone knob full on(the brighter setting), but last time I could notice the sound beeing too bright at high level...treble on the amp at 2 was the most I could stand...lowering the tone knob might help there.
I lack a volume and tone for each PU on the bari, specially for dual PU use like I want to try. the neck drowns the bridge into ridiculous amount of low end if I try to use both...
Hey check out those handmade P-90, sounds amazing:

-
Pretty off topic but it's a nice conversation!
P-90s are awesome in my opinion! The sound can't be compared with the true single coil sound. It's more "hot" and more aggressive and that's why they sound good with high volumes.
Chev you should definitely check a set to your baritone! I use a Fender Jaguar baritone with P-90s and they are great! The last couple of months I have installed one Seymour Duncan P-rails!
Is actually 3 pus in one... P-90, a rail (with kind of strat sound) and both together as a Humbucker!
If you like those GF tones, I believe this pickup deserves the extra money :-D

ok thanks for the heads up, that SD looks good! yeah GFS are good to experiment different tones...but if I find the kind I like, I might go up a notch in quality and price...just got to worth it.
perhaps we should move this discussion to my thread on PU's...but more people tend to come here and comment...specially that I plan on playing some doom with my PU's...!
-
I've been curious about the P-Rails...
-
I've been curious about the P-Rails...
and you're getting me curious too...haha, from the schematic they give, I could swap my volume & tone pots for push-pulls with 2 P-rails and have infinite kind of tones...SC/HB/P-90...! :-o
but for now I want my Mean 90 so bad...! 8-)
there's a rad home-shop close to my place that recycle electric guitars of any kind and do custom crazy setup...I might bring my bari there if I go with the push-pull mods...

keep looking!
but that's the reason I went with an Avatar cab, specially that I only needed an extra 2x12...the Monolith looks good too but not silverface...

new good quality boot tracks of Monument playing 1200s through a 412L and bassist using beta bass 1x15 combo with an Altec Lansing steel cast speaker thrown in posted here. Studio recordings with Model T up there as well, new album in the mixing process as we speak.

New family pic. Finally got to play the Sheraton at practice last night with the full band (we are auditioning new drummers after ours passed away last month). Sounds just mean, nasty, and evil through the Enforcer. Semi-hollow and Sunn = DOOM! I ran the rigs in tandem also for a bit, nice!

woaw, sorry to here that for your drummer!
but the rig looks nice! yeah I've always been tick by hollow body guitar...my friend luthier build some nice ones since he knows how to sculpt arch-top now...soon or later I'll get one made to my taste...but it's going to be nothing less than 3K$! he still has a few old relic he's selling that comes from all over the ebay...they're cheap like 300-500$ range, I should pick one and try...I'm just tempted even more now...haha! I guess you get more sustain and crazy overtones...? :-o
if you ever get some clips it would be awesome...!

hey updated pic...nothing much different except...
new Sennheiser e906, Meathead clone (dark & standard mod), Sonic Titan clone and a LS-2 to switch between the two in one click!

I read about your drummer a few weeks back. Terrible news. My condolences.
-
Thanks guys, I appreciate the comments about our drummer - man that one hit us really hard. He was only 27 years old, we just found out he died from heart failure and had an enlarged heart. He lived a clean life but was a pretty big guy. He had only been with us for almost 4 months but that level of talent and the kind of pro he was really had an impact on us. He was just plain good, one of the best drummers I've ever played with in my 25 year music career. And to top it off, funny as hell and just a great person. He was a huge Clutch fan and watching some live Clutch, I really see where is style and influence came from. He brought a level of tightness to the band that we had yet to experience. I don't think you replace that, huge shoes to fill. You just find someone who can work with you and fits in well -- and we have. Our new drummer is great also, totally different style, but can play and has a ton of soul and drive!
By the way, I got to see Eyehategod the other night - just damn!
-
yeah I can imagine it's a big change, drummer inspires break downs and is a big part of the sludgeness of a riff...
me I just found a bassist who's willing to play stricly sludge! he loves Eyehategod! wow!
we did our 1st try out yesterday and I let him use my Sonaro bass rig with my Catalinbread SFT...! sounds awesome! he's going to put bigger strings and tune in drop A over the holidays...!
I also found a new drummer willing to sludge, still need to set a try out but it should work out.
so I'll get a new sludge band running soon...! 8-) in parallel with my black drone doom band...

the project is still going good.
here's the pics of the actual doom bass rig I've manage to buy & setup for my lucky bassist...I can finally get to play bass sometimes, I love it.
sounds like: http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=10336089

hey no more Sunn rig pics?
here's my latest family picture, the place is too small so I can't get everyone completely in the picture... :|
Guitar rig Model T+Solarus, Bass Rig Solarus+Sonaro
the new Emi CB158 I've ordered wouldn't fit in the 1x15 because of studs being too short so I've put them in the 215s for now and use the 2 1x15 with the Big Ben for the T.

Sunn 2000s+2xSunn 2000s cabinets (JBL K140s). Top is currently awaiting speakers (just picked it up today), bottom is home built to vintage spec.
120w+4x15s will be decidedly devastating. Let alone with a Bassman 300 in place of the 2000s.

Yep, devastating to a lot of things, such as; your back, door frames, storage space, whatever vehicle you tote them with, sound engineers at venues when you roll them up on stage, etc... :-D
It will indeed sound pretty awesome though, now you are "whole". Good score!

update! beta bass master line out into the coliseum slave...still to many options to try... :-P

My drummer just got his Ludwig re-issue Bonham kit, so we jammed a bit, and then got picture-happy.
My pair of 612S cabs and their Model Ts are on the right, with my Concert Lead and Space Echo hanging around atop them. The 412S is the sad looking one without a grille. I think I need a matching Concert lead and 412S, though.

This stack probably won't be a regular thing, just side by side. Doors can deal, space can deal, I think by some miracle I can actually fit both in one 84 toyota pickup, and sound engineers...........the look on their face will be worth the hassle alone.... :-D

Also, this got me thinking of feeding my Beta into my Coliseum Bass.
I'll be buried in rowhome rubble by the weekend.

hey the mic technique (placement) is interesting, always wondered how far I should be from the speakers with my mics...because it's pretty f loud for the mics capsule I guess ;)

Yeah, I we also have two room mics that pick up the entire sound, they have a LOT of depth to them. Total Beast Mode

UPDATE!!!
test ride before the cab restauration:
412 cab restored from 8ohm to 4ohm:
before
(http://i594.photobucket.com/albums/tt27/epoirier21/Sunn%20amps%20gear/IMG_1223.jpg)
after
(http://i594.photobucket.com/albums/tt27/epoirier21/Sunn%20amps%20gear/IMG_1227.jpg)
And then...
The beast of Doom is born:
Sunn Model T at 2 ohm into Sunn 412 + Sunn 215 fully restored with Emi speakers...
-
looks better standing up
-
really, I don't know I think it looks scary huge like this haha!
I like having the cab on the rubber feet instead of the casters to get the maximum sub-frequency felt all around the room.
But it's a f...n pain to put the 412 on top by myself...! heavy lifting for a heavy tone. ;)
But I might have to put them standing again because I also use the 1st setup shown for a 2 guitar rig...in a 2nd black metal project in the process...
-
here's a iPhone sample of the beast in action!
you will ear some Sunno))), Moss. Electric Wizard and some riff improv...and some sloppy «à la EHG» at the end...haha

Sunn Model T at 2 ohm into Sunn 412 + Sunn 215 fully restored with Emi speakers...
Why 2 ohms? Wouldn't you have had a lot more flexibility with 8 ohm cabinets rather than 4 ohm cabinets?
Things like adding another pair of cabs to the Model T in the future, or the ability to use the restored pair with one of your other Sunn amps you have listed would have been been nice IMO.

Yeah but it's also a space issue.
I need the best efficiency for the space I have.
I could go back using the Spectre+412 and Model T+215 for the same space used but I get a better tone for the application out of the Model T so I want the most I can get out of it.

You know that with a Model T it doesn't matter what the load is, right? You get as much "out of it" at 8 or 4 ohms as you do at 2 ohms.
Transistor amps will output more at lower loads; tube amps do not.
I’m sure the Model T is quite thunderous through that pair of cabs, but it just seems like you could get a lot more use out of them if they were 8 ohm cabs instead of 4 ohm cabs; then all of your old Sunn amps could run your newly refurbished cabs as a pair.

woaw, I didn't know that actually!?
I tought the spec 150w was there only at 2ohm!
Yeah I want to send the Sceptre head for full restoration and use it with his matching 412 cab, the Model T could go on the 215 then.
When the bassit is not there I also send the Model T line out to the Coliseum Slave+2 1x15 and the Sonaro +215...!!! massive tone but not has massive as having a fully rig bassist. ;)
-

Yep, I think there is even a 16 ohm tap inside your Model T, you could use that and get every bit as much power out of that amp with a 16 ohm load as you can at 2 ohms. It doesn’t make any difference at all to the amp itself; to the amp it all looks the same. That’s the reason for the output transformer.
Kind of a handy thing to know about when you are making a big pile of amps and cabs…
Of course, ALL of this helpful “pile - ‘o - amps” info and much more has been posted about a million times on this forum, do a search and expand your knowledge base!

yeah their is 2 4 8 16 ohm selector on the back, should have knowed that :|, but I have enough amps cabs combinations available to get stuff going, but for know the rig I have right now is the best I've had to this date. If I had more space I could have 4 cabs on that Model T alone...! but I'd need extra jack plugs on the cabs to chain 2 per speaker out...

Unless you made a couple of parallel Y connectors, or one of those handy series/parallel boxes that were being posted about recently. Of course you can quickly hit a stage volume that becomes plain silly when you just keep piling stuff up...
If you want really loud, like 120+ sustained dB, hang a few of these over the audience;

haha, yeah the splitter box would be good but jam space can't take any more amps or cabs...!
I'm good with what I have now, I'm actually selling 2 Solarus/212 kit, one already sold to my drummer who plays guitar and the other one locally or a friend...only friend or local Sunn fans will get to taste Sunns...;) I'm keeping every Sunn pieces north of the border and close sorry! but you have enough in the US haha!

haha no I want my cranked tube tone, Model T normal 10, bright 6, master (((6))) !!!
and thank god we finally got a doom drum haha!
But we'll put a 24" ride soon...

forgive the non-sunn amps, but i do love variety.
and this one is more recent with my new cab and the model t decorated to match. still have to re-paint the t's grille though.

hate to see this thread die, so i figure i'll post my new toys. Just got a pair of peavey 6x12s for $300.

Congrats on your recent purchase!!!!!!
So.. thread resurrection time:

nice rig...looks like tetris from hell. i've got that same peavey bass amp, i feel like everyone has owned that amp at some point.
-
I got 2 Sunn Beta 205's that I run in a dual rig, clean/dirty setup.
The bottom one has Eminence Beta 15a's, and the top one is a bit smaller than the bottom one? That has the original square backs. Bottom is clean and is being pushed by an Ampeg B2R w/ a Boss ODB-3 before it. The top is dirty and being pushed by a cranked Acoustic power amp, which is being pushed by this baby...
A Correct Sound Eclipse, which is a preamp based off a Sunn Concert Lead, it's made by a guy in Russia. That thing is killer!!! I run a Mojo Hand Colossus Fuzz after the Eclipse, before the power amp.
I play that fretless P, a BEAD Warwick $$, and on it's way to it's new home, is a 70's Hondo Ric copy. Cant wait for that!!!
-
Got that 70's Hondo ric copy and since then I havent been running a clean/dirty setup. Who needs clean anyways?
Here she is...all 6ft + of her.
I've blown all the original squarebacks, so I've replaced them with Eminence Alphas and Betas. This thing crushes. I also had the Acoustic power amp serviced, so shes ready to last forever. Still running the Mojo Hand Colossus, ODB-3 and Eclipse preamp...Best tone I've had PERIOD.
-
Did a recording session last night, so it was a great opportunity to capture my updated rig and share.
Never been happier with my tone!!

...just recording Interstellar with Suntrigger....a good chance to get a picture of my SUNN stuff....
The 2000S cab is from SAD, they recalculated the org. 2000S cab and found out that the chamber is too large for the speakers. So every 15" got it's own chamber plus 2 x 8" in one on the top. I love that sound!

Just picked up this 2nd Gen from my tech. Needed a major overhaul.

So due to password issues, I haven't been able to log in in a few years. Figure I can probably update my rig or doom to it's current incarnation:

The one on the right has this etched into the cab faceplate and the backplate of the head:
