Paint removal on a grill cloth
« on: December 12, 2009, 07:19:31 am »
I'm looking into buying a 6x12 cab but it looks like one of the previous owners either stenciled or painted something on the grill cloth.  Before I jump in head first, does anyone know if it's possible to remove this paint with some type of solvent?

I was thinking maybe varsol or furniture stripper, that 1850 stuff.  Any ideas?

I would do a test on some simular grille cloth before I went straight to what is on the amp....maybe cut some wee bits from inside the cab???
Some strippers might melt the materail of the grille cloth, I would think.I have known some paint that would come off using machinist's cutting oils. Everythign depends on what paint they sprayed on there.
