coliseum bass (1972?)
« on: March 01, 2001, 06:51:00 pm »
I just got my old Coliseum bass going again after a few years of transistor trouble.
Now it keeps blowing fuses. I tried to replace the ones that were in there but i'm not sure if those are even the right ones. They were ceramic 10 amp 250 volt fuses.I was running it on my my sunn 1x18 cab 8 ohms.
the year on the inside of my amp says 1972.
does anyone know if these are the right fuses or anything else about this amp?

The fuse(s) blow probably because either filter cap has shorted, or there's some other deadly load on the power supply like a shorted power transistor.  Maybe.  It didn't eat your speakers?

The fuses, judging from my ongoing repair of a Coliseum Slave, are rated at 10 amps.  The 250v is a maximum voltage; the power supply, if same as Slave, is running +50 and -50 volts.

Cheers!
