RUSSIAN CIRCLES
« on: December 18, 2010, 01:25:00 pm »
One of my all-time favourite bands, Russian Circles, is in fact the band that got me interested in SUNN in the first place.
Their guitarist, Mike Sullivan, uses 2 Model T reissues with 4x12 and 2x12 Emperor cabs.
The tone he's able to crank from those things is unfriggenbelievable. Videos just don't do it justice, unfortunately.

A rather decent (and recent) vid of them here:

We've discussed these guys in the past here: http://sunn.ampage.org/sdp/index.php/topic,3094.0.html

Definitely good stuff!

Right on, looked through a few pages of this thread and didn't see it- my bad.
In any case, they inadvertantly brought me here...

Love this band, but I really have to say, for the most part, the drummer makes this band great.  Super sweet live.

He's definitely the most talented, but Mike's style is pretty impressive as well, and he writes some amazing songs.
