alpha 115 advice
« on: March 28, 2007, 07:55:37 am »
recently purchased a nice alpha 115 and had the original speaker re-coned as it had seen better days.  got it home, played through it loudly for about 15 minutes and i'm pretty sure i blew the speaker (odd sprung coil type aftersound after strumming any volume).  using this as a guitar amp, not bass.

any suggestions as to what a good speaker replacement might be?  preferably something a little more powerful?

thanks for any help...

First thing I'd do is find another speaker to run the amp through. That would determine if it's the amp or speaker with the problem. Frankly, it doesn't sound like a speaker problem to me.

Interesting - this is my first amp, so that hadn't occured to me.  I'll give that a try.
