Title: News for those of you who like/use Beta Series Sunn's
Post by: grimniggzy on November 08, 2010, 12:42:03 pm
Looks as though Monolith Loudspeakers will be able to convert Beta Lead heads into Beta Bass heads as well as the other way around shortly.
He also hints at the chance of an amp that is a switchable clone of both.

No problem, figured there'd be at least a few people on here intrigued by this.

No problem, I'm interested in 2 of those 115 cabs myself.

cool, but it will have to do with my out of the box Avatar 212 for now...!
it has the big advantage of being carry able by myself! the 1x15 too.

50$ of shipping for a 45lbs speakerless 212 cab, I guess the 612 would be in the 150$!

and the postman will really hate me...lol!

Yeah, same thought here about the 1X15.
Haha, and forget the postman, he can always quit if he's that miserable.
I'd gladly take his job to fund this purchase.

I've been emailing with Wade, the guy who builds this Monolith gear, and he's a really nice guy.  I don't have the funds right now to give him business, but if you guys do I would encourage it.  Love to support the little guys like this.

I'd love to just jump at a pair of the 1X15's but i'm low on $$$ and space.
I also don't much want to lose any of the 3 cabs I have so I'm stuck for now.

But for the money they definitely seem like an awesome alternative to a lot of the 1X15's you see on the market. Orange and Reeves both make really nice ones but they're priced at $659 and $799 while Monoliths are $450 loaded, $350 unloaded. I need to save some money and make some space.

However, if/when a switchable Beta Lead/Bass Head comes out I'd hop on one quickly.

Monolith also makes the 215RFH, which I asked about and is essentially the 2000s cab, which is AWESOME.

When I had one of my 612S' delivered, the UPS guy was so pissed about the size and weight, until he saw that I had to bring it upstairs by myself.  He just laughed at me and probably felt a lot better.

haha! omg, was it loaded? it must be like over 100lbs!!!

my postman just speech my girlfriend the last time about me not being there when he deliver oversized stuff like LP's and my last order of Eminence speakers...blah blah blah! Hey I need to work to pay off all those mail order!!!

I think I could pretty much make him quit the job with a Monolith 6x12...! lol!

at least my Avatar was shipped with Fedex, these guys work their ass off for 1/2 the salary of the Canada postman and they even do 3 tentatives without complaining! :-D
