Anyone have any information for me on the Magna 2480....?  Series 2000.....or where can I find information on this model?

Hi ...glad to hear that someone knows about what I am talking about....We bought one the other day and we have no idea how it works or what kind of speakers, cords, etc. we need..any information would be helpful...my e-mail address is bates888@hotmail.com

i aquired a magna 2480 about a year ago.

the chief engineer, at the manufacturer i work for, took one of the modules yesterday and replaced all the resistors with 1% metal film resistors and replaced the op-amps for the filter section and the input section with 5534 and 5532 op-amps.

he also replaced the old caps in the power supply with brand new ones.

i already really liked the fatness of the sound of this little jewel of a board, now the noise floor is lowered by 7 or 8 dB and  the THD went from .2% to .05%, headroom beyond beyond.

i use it in r&d'ing new professional audio products we will be bringing to market.

be aware that the the mic inputs are unbalanced, there is no connection on pin 3.

long mic cable runs might get a little noisy.
we are going to try and install a transformer on the mic input and balance it.

i'll post here when it's done.
