Difference btwn Colliseum/Studio PA Heads
« on: June 17, 2001, 11:58:00 am »
It's hard to tell from pics here on site. The two heads look the same but the Colliseum Sound Head is higher than the Studio Sound Head. Outside of the spakers that accompanied them, what's the difference between the two?

Jon;
The Studio PA head was a 60 watt amp using a pair of 6550 output tubes. The Coliseum PA was 120 watts using a quartet of 6550's. Except for that difference, and the beefier power supply and larger transformers, the amps are the same.

i think the studio p.a. ( http://www.dangpow.com/~sunn/studiopa/studpaf.jpg )
essentially the same as a 200s/sonaro etc-based board, so concievably it's largely the same as 200s etc for guitar and bass, right?  anyone know if there are any differences, and can list them?  obviously there is no mid-boost or hi/lo switches, but otherwise has the overall same functionality and tube sound?
