220 volt transfo needed for 2000S
« on: May 04, 2003, 10:52:49 am »
I have an ex-Hendrix Experience 2000s bass amp used by Noel Redding. Converted in 1968 to 220 volt mains trans. Mains transfo's dead and gone so need data for winding voltages and amperage to have a new 220 volt transfo made. Maybe someone knows how to the job with solid rectifiers to replace the GZ34s. Any help/suggestions welcome.

So the inbuild trafo that converts the current from 220V into 110V is broke? Why not buy a seperate voltagetransformer?

mhm, we imported several late 60s Sunns from the US, a.o. a 2000S, and gave them to Tube Amp Doctor in Worms, Germany to change them from 117 to 230V - this did never require a special or new transformator, so I think the original trafos must have connections for 230 V also, so an normal original trafo should do - anyway, I can recommend the Tube Amp Doctor for your purpose ...oh I just see your post is already pretty old - did you already fix it?
