coliseum 300 and two cabs
« on: January 04, 2006, 05:44:42 pm »
several days ago i purchased a coliseum 300 and 610L cab for $400. the amp is in excellent shape, but the cab has four newer bass speakers and two older guitar speakers that i plan on replacing. i also have a peavey 1x15 cab that i would like to use along with this.

coliseum - 300 watts, 2 ohms
610 - 6 ohms
115 - 8 ohms

1. would i be able to use the two cabinets together through this amp? everything that i have read so far deals with cabs that have equal impedance ratings. i think that i should be able to, but i don't want to damage anything.
2. how would i do this? the coliseum has two outputs in the back, and the amp also has two 1/4" jacks. which one would be best for the setup?
3. would the amp that i have now be enough to power both cabs well?

i'm fairly new to the amp/cab game and the whole impedance thing. if i skipped over any details that would help, let me know. thanks in advance

IIRC, the Coliseum series was rated for 2 ohms. One 6 and one 8 ohm cabinet works out to 3.4 ohms. Should be fine.
