hi sunn guys...was watching tv and this honda commerial came on..the set up was people were outside and it was going to be an outside concert. the stage was in a field. the camera backs up and there is a guy on stage and a marshall amp behind him. the camera pans slowly to the left and there she is. a sunn amp right out in front. only saw the commerial twice but it's there. now i live in mass. so i don't know if this commerial ia aired across the country so kepp an eye out. it's nice to see a vintage sunn on tv. it looks like a 200s but you guys with the high def's can confirm....enjoy....smiles Bob

OLI, i thought it had three pots but with a standard tv, they looked a little blured.that's why i thought the guys on this site that had a high def tv could get a closer look without getting up out of their chair to see it better...what caught my eye first was the handle on the cab...i daid to myself....that looks like a sunn handle....naw...it couldn't be....but. it might..sooooo the 2nd time it came on i was right on top of the tv and ya, it's a sunn..did look like a 200s head because the guy had a guitar amp on the other end of the stage and if the producer wanted a rather genuine stage set up with the amps..he would have to go with what was needed to get the job done...hey ! it was cool to see it,,hope the other guys on the site get a chuckle out of the commerial...who know's, it could be the producers own amp.....go SUNN !

It's a Sunn for sure. The shot pans from a Marshall over to the other side of the stage and it sure looks like a 200S or similar cab and the head did have 3 pots, I believe. Pretty cool to see it in a Honda commercial.

There is a different Honda commercial playing down here in Texas. Thanks for the YouTube link. That's definately a 200S and cab except you can't see the JBL domes.

Neat! Now I know my Sorado and 215 will fit in an Insight!
-
I used to carry a Sorado (same size as 200S) cabinet around in the back seat of a 63 Volkswagen Beetle.
-
Wow, that's no small trick! Back then I hauled mine in the backseat of a Mercury Comet, but it least it had four doors.
-
I somehow found a way to get a 2000S head and 200S cab into a VW Scirocco hatch and not collapse the suspension. Lifting it out.....ouch!
-
you guys sure must of loved pain...i had a chevy wagon..ran the wheels off it and went right into a suburban...been driving one ever since...hey ! it's not just for amps anymore...boy..the locking latch on the back off those hatch backs must have ripped the tolex to the bone back in them days.....poor cab.....sic...smiles ....ok..now'e the time...oli...thanks for getting that link up on the site...i'am way too stupid to pull something like that off....

Hi,
I think it's great, Sunn "pops up" quite often. I bought two german guitar/bass magazines last mouth: One got a special with Mountain in it. They discribed the used SUNN amp as very famous. And the other was a test of an 2x15" bass box: "The reference are the 2x15" from the legendary company called Sunn."
Greetings

I can fit a 200s and cab in a 2006 Scion Xa - someone should start a topic on what's the biggest rig smallest car combo people have actually tried. Let's see a smart car and an Acoustic 360 - not.
-
Toyota Yaris with a model T and two 612s cabinets, but a Fender 2x12 combo amp and guitars. Years of Tetris have finally paid off!!

Before I got my '73 ChevyVan, I used to haul my Sorado rig in the back seat of my mom's '70 Buick Skylark...4 door, of course, but it was still a bit tricky sliding the cab in w/o snagging the grillcloth on the door/window handles. Head fit nicely in the rear floorboard. Don't recall ever attempting the same feat with my dad's '61 Buick Special...now that would have been something to send to Guinness ...
