That's right. No power amp pcb. Everything else is there. Amp itself is in good shape except for missing the power amp pcb.
No I didnt do anything to it. That was how I got it. It was given to me by a friend who had it given to him that way.
I have too many other projects that need my time so I'll throw this one up to the cool folks in this forum.
If you want it, make me an offer for it. I'm not afraid to ship it anywhere in the lower 48 but I hate to see it go to waste. Hopefully there's a tech out there who'll want to fix it up and bring it back to it's former glory.
Send me an email to bim_ecs@yahoo.com and I'll send you some pics.
I'm in Clinton IA 52732.....

Nobody even wants it for parts or needs any parts from it? I'm really surprised. I figured it would have gone for parts or the parts would have gone from it right after I posted it. Is it one of those cases where everyone wants to see pics first so you know which one it is?
-
post pics anyway.
-
How much do you want for it?

Hi guys. I'm back.
Wife got me a new computer for my bday and I've been having a hard time dumping everything over from my old computer.
The one thing the new one has is windows 7 and what it doesnt have is a floppy drive. My camera is a Sony Mavica MVC-FD200 that has a floppy drive. Until I have a floppy drive for this computer or get a memory card for my camera I cant put any pics online.
However, I can tell you that my concert bass amp was tested 12-12-75, it is the red dial model with a black face, red logo and white power switch. It's a 200 watt head but it's missing the amp pcb. It does have all the iron. Cosmetically it's a 9/10 with the original AC cord. I'd nlove to bring it back to life but I already have too many projects.
As far as price goes, you tell me what it's worth. I know the iron's still worth alot by the number of people looking for it.

I'll give you $150 for it shipped. Not trying to lowball, but I've got a Concert Bass of my own that could use the parts.
-
I know you're not trying to lowball, but I cant believe that without a power amp pcb that all this thing is worth is $100 after shipping.
Anyone have anything they'd like to trade for it?
Maybe it's worth more as separate parts than it is whole.....

Alright. Here she is.

Hi,
I payed 190$ for a concert bass with a missing Switch in Jan 2009.
-
And if you want to give me that plus shipping for mine I'll take it.
-
I don't think you'll get much for it. You're better off sticking it on craigslist asking for 200.00 Maybe someone will give you 150 for it.
-
Either way it's up for sale.
I'll either part it out or sell it as a whole unit. It's just sitting around gathering dust.
I'm looking for pots for a Beta Bass, mainly the 2 6 pin pots that plug directly into the PCB
-
I'll give you $100 for it.
-
If anyone wants to get serious about a price, I'll listen.
Otherwise it's going back to my basement and when I get inspired I'll make an amp for it.
Monsieur Lebeaux, add another $50 to your offer and show up in Clinton IA to get the amp.
-
I'll give you $75 and even have someone pick it up.

I am dead serious about the price. I'm not trying to be rude, and I would pay for shipping of course. Silver faces generally go for around $250 in working condition... I've got a buddy that scored one in perfect shape for $100 about a year and a half ago, and that was from Music Go Round. I figure it will cost an extra $50 or so for parts, plus quite a bit of time to borrow my other buddy's red-knob concert bass, open it up, trace the circuit board, make a parts list, order parts, make a circuit board, drill it, and mount it all up. If I valued my time at minimum wage, I could say that would be worth about $100. That's being optimistic.
How long has it been since this thing worked? It could easily need more than just the power amp PCB. Whenever I buy a vintage amp I always expect to at least replace the electrolytics, which I can do if necessary, but I don't have a variac, so that requires a trip to the local amp tech to ensure it's brought up to speed properly. More money.
I've been burned before from buying amps in non working condition. I bought an Ampeg VT-22 a few years ago for a decent price that only needed a 12dw7 tube to function properly... according to the seller. I bought a tube for it and it didn't last ten minutes before smoke started coming out the top and the amp died. It needed a full cap job because the amp had been stored in the garage for who knows how long before the guy decided to unload it on some sucker. My $300 amp wound up costing an extra $300 for new tubes and a cap job, and eventually an extra $200 to finally get everything ironed out and working properly. But all it supposedly needed was a $15 tube. I could have bought two VT-22s in perfect working order for what I spent on that thing.
You said the amp was given to you, so whatever you get out of it is pure profit. If you don't like the offers, put it on Ebay and see what you get for it.
