I found a Sunn Beta Lead 1970s guitar amp on craigslist that looks very cool, but it's a 1x12 combo. All the searching I've done has only turned up reviews of a 2x12 combo.
Did Sunn actually manufacture a 1x12 combo, or is this the case of someone building a cabinet for a sunn head and selling it as a combo.

It's worth whatever someone will pay for it. Figure out what you would take for it and list it in the Classified section, someone will probably make you an offer. Or put it on eBay, and you'll find out exactly what the market value currently is. :wink:

What "head"? It's a combo.

Yeah the speaker isn't working so im gonna pull the head and sell it separately.

Why would you want to do that? It might make shipping a little less expensive for a potential buyer, but why not sell it as is and let the buyer worry about putting a new speaker in it. I would think that this particular amp would be more attractive to more potential buyers as a combo....but that's just my $ .02

yeah if you're going to sell this, sell it as is and let the next guy decide if he wants to rip it apart or restore it. Chances are it probably needs very little work, if the amp is good and the speaker is not.

+1. Are you just going to trash the combo cab?
Also, it's not a "head"; it's an amp chassis.
I assume you are talking about the Beta chassis that comes in the combo amps like what is pictured, right?

That unit is meant to go into some sort of protective enclosure; that flimsy sheet metal isn’t really intended to be sturdy enough to be used as a free standing "head" unit. A Beta “head” was that chassis in a wooden cabinet.

Yes, some very good info here. Ill most likely sell it as the combo with a broken speaker, or possible look into getting the speaker fixed before I make a sale.
