Title: Coliseum bass cab pricing.
Post by: doc10039 on July 15, 2011, 05:13:00 pm
I have a chance to get a Coliseum bass cab with the Vega 18" speaker. Just checking to see what these are going for right now.

Thanks

As with anything, a lot depends on condition - of the tolex, the grill cloth, and especially the speaker. Good original condition can bring as much as $400, at least it did a couple of years ago.  A forum member sold a solid pair of 118Vs not too long ago, which he had advertised a few months. If you look through the "classified" listings on this forum, you should be able to see some asking and selling prices.

You can do your own market research on the site below, to see what people all over the United States are asking nowadays, and whether they're selling.

To save EdBass from making  a post, I will tell you that while condition is important ultimately the buyer makes the most difference.  If you are lucky and find the right one, he or she may be willing to pay a lot for a good cabinet. But absent that "right" buyer, you'll have to ask something in line with prices other sellers are seeking.

Good luck!

Ha.Ha!  The first thing I thought of when I read the Original Post was "where's Ed?"  I'd bet Ed Bass has answered these kind of "what's it worth" questions 1,000 times since I first signed on to the forum.  He probably  has that  "what someone is willing to pay for it...." thing in a word document by now so he can just cut and paste it into a post!!  LOL

I'm the guy that bought those two from here, $300 apiece.  I recently sold them for $300 apiece to a friend.  i've seen them go for less, and i've seen 'em go for more.  depends where you are and how big of a hurry you're in, but i thought that price was fair as a buyer and as a seller.

I agree that $300 is a "fair" and competitive price right now. These don't seem to be in as much demand as they were a couple of years ago.
