hey,

i am looking for a sunn pb-10 preamp. does someone know where i can get it?? i love this specific sound!!

i think its been linked already, but you can get a brand new one from monolith.

Though $800 is a little prohibitive.

That I am, seeing as I have seen seven of them in my life, which is huge. Seen Seven PB-10s and four PL-20s... All in studio racks. Pshaw.  :mrgreen:

So what has prompted the recent big interest in the rack mounted Beta preamps? For years you rarely heard about them, and it seems like in the last month or so suddenly everybody desperately wants one; is there a particular reason for this sudden demand?  :?

I have no idea, it must be because someone saw the only FailTube video of the PB-10.

I've wanted one for about eight years now but only recently have had the means to get one. Too bad none came up while I was employed.

I've been using a Beta lead out of a 2x15 with 1600 watts of handling, and I've recently put my hands on a 1200W power amp... and want a beta bass pre for my bass rig. They're killer, and that youtube video has been up for almost two years?

I'm not paying Monolith 800 dollars for something I can get an original of for 400...

800 is a little steep. 

would i want an original?  absolutely.  would i want the monolith version? yes.  would i want to wait for years and years with hopes of but not definitely finding one for sale? no.  would i pay 800 dollars to get one in probably a month or two, that is the exact circuit as the original?  absolutely.

Its due to King Buzzo talking about his live rig in a video on youtube. He uses two PB-10's in his setup.
