The one I was looking at, 242-874 at Parts Express doesn't work the way I thought it did. You need a 70V transformer in addition to the attenuator. You could use the type of attenuator designed to be used with a guitar amp, they can take the power but are quite expensive.

Here's a picture with the 4 earliest logos. I cannot place dates on them with confidence. I know there are articles in the forum that should pop up with a search for SUNN LOGO. Maybe between them and the pictures some order can be determined. People would change them sometimes too so having a cab or amp with a particular log is probably not a guarantee of correctness.
I don't know of any definitive documentation on the topic.
I found this from a thread where Loudthud responded..."The Sunn badges or logo plates have gone through several changes over the years. Do a search and you can find threads where I have pictures of different examples. Hard to see in your pictures but it looks like there is a small R in a circle between the letters Sunn and the (o))) symbol. The (R) means Registered trademark. Before 1969 there was no (R)."
