Sunn sceptre foot pedal
« on: February 22, 2016, 04:29:33 am »
Hello all,

New to the forum, and I have a Sunn Sceptre that is being shipped to me from a friend across the country. I'm a bit familiar with this amp, I played through it for years. But after moving it sat a few while and I'm just now getting it back home. It seems the footswitch is missing for the reverb and tremolo. I'm not finding much on ebay or anywhere else for a replacement. I know its a pretty small market but is there anyone that makes an aftermarket footswitch for this thing?

Any footswitch with RCA plugs should work I'd expect. If not a shorted RCA plug would work.
Gibson Les Paul Special
Electra X260
Squier Precision Bass MIJ
Science Hellhawk 100w
Ampeg VT-22/V-4
Science Mother
Mojotone Bluesbreaker 2x12
Mojotone British 4x12
Ampeg SVT 810

Reverb and tremolo should work without a footswitch. No RCA plugs required. The foot switch is for turning the effects off without having to turn knobs on the amp. That way, you can preset the effect, turn it off, play without, then turn it on when you need it.

I don't have a Sunn foot switch for my amps. I use a Peavey dual foot switch that came with my practice amp. It has a TRS (tip-ring-sleeve) ¼" plug, so I have to use a ¼" to stereo RCA adapter, but it works fine. I got my adapter at Radio Shack.
