Problems with beta bass
« on: March 21, 2015, 02:55:33 am »
Hi, i have a Sunn Beta Bass, and it won't really work. First of all i have to crank the gain really high for it to sound at all. So it sounds but it sounds horrible, it cuts in and out and sound really crappy.
I changed all the capacitors and the output transistors, so thats not the problem. Do anyone know what the problem may be?

Yes i have an oscilloscope! But it seems like the problem is the power amp, i tested just the power amp and it needs a quite strong signal in, and it sounds distorded. Could it be a bad transistor? Anyone heard of something like this before?

Do the channel lights work properly? They should light up when you plug into each channel and both light up when you plug into the Both input.

Check the +/- 15V regulators on the the power amp board.
