....I have a chance to buy one at about $175....is the sound comparable to Sunn alpha...?......is the marshall mosfet reliable...any major repair hassles that could occur.....?....harmony central and the marshall forum  both praise the amp......just curious to get more opinions......

i've had an Alpha and i've had a Mosfet Lead 100. they're almost nothing alike. the Alpha sounds super similar to the Beta, fuzzy, gritty, precise. The Lead 100 sounds like a classic Marshall. I'd imagine the Marshall would probably easier to service seeing as the Alpha shares a lot of the same circuit as the Beta which can be near impossible to fix.
