While I'm new to using Sunn equipment, I
remember seeing stacks of it in a music
store in a shopping mall as a teenager, and
now, wow, I have a piece of Sunn equipment!
The other day, I purchased a Sun MX-4108
mixer---a little dusty, but aside from a
few bent latching tabs on the XLR connectors,
it's in very good physical shape and
everything appears functional. Seems to be
well worth the $99 that I paid for it.
However, there's just one problem: a fair amount of hiss in the output. Is this
normal for this board? I'm planning on
eventually replacing it with a 12 or 16
channel board, but may try repairing this
one first. If this is normal for this
board, is it also typical of other Sun
mixers?
