I need dimensions of Sorado Head
« on: September 17, 2002, 10:15:00 pm »
Howdy Sunn fans - I have a favor to ask.  Would anyone email me the dimensions of a Sorado head?  I have looked all over the net, and called Fender.  They kindly looked in their hardcopy file for me but they don't have the service manual.  I need to build a case for one and send it to the customer out-of-town; meanwhile his Sorado head is locked up (naked)in his equipment truck somewhere.  I used to play thru a Sorado years ago...never thought I'd need to measure it though.  If anyone has a minute to take a tape rule and fire me off the dimensions I'd be extremely grateful.  Thanks in advance!!

ok these seem to be it
my head is a solarus but there cousins
any way the WIDTH: 24 and 1/8 maybe 24 1/4 most likely 24 inches

ok then for DEPTH it is 9 1/2 inches

then for HEIGHT or talness it is 9 3/4 inches that should be it

then
for the wood info 3/4 inch thick wood.
and for the back panel brackets there are two one by one's for the front and two one by ones for the back.

now for those panels they are 1/2 inch

WARNING the measurments were done on a amp covered with tolex so the things are maybe alittle smaller but theres your basic idea

have fun with your sunn project i am 14 and I am glade i went tube and went sunn for that fact.
the reason i am helping you is i know how hard it is to get help and i am trying to start up a tube amp repair shop in my garage. considering i am only 14 and have oready built a tube amp is not bad
Oh that amp was a 1959 fender champ copy

THANK YOU!

I did also receive dimensions of the Sorado from the customer and you're right, they are the same as yours.  I really appreciate it as well as your remarks.  Just email us if we can do anything to assist you with your amps.  I don't know much about amp technology but I know a good deal about the chassis the amp is mounted in.  If you need new or replacement parts for example or need info on building/repairing the chassis I can steer you in the right direction.  Thanks again for taking the time to measure that head and reply!
