Sunn Beta Lead Votage/Hz input concerns

I've got a Sunn Beta Lead on the way. My problem is that I live in Tokyo, Japan and outlets here run 100V and 50hz. Sunn, being made in the U.S. takes 120V / 60hz.  Is this going to be a problem? I've got a step-up transformer to cover the voltage difference but will the 50hz damage this 60hz amp?  If so, how can I mod it so it won't cause and damage? Any help would be appreciated.

You do want to step up the voltage.  Also, make sure your transformer has at least a 300 watt rating to provide for maximum power.

The 50hz supply frequency won't "hurt" the amp.  Depending on the capacitance value of the main power supply caps and their condition, you may notice an increased hum level and possible loss of peak power capability.  The fix would be to swap in some fresher and higher value main supply caps.  However, I wouldn't worry about this until you try it.

The highest transformer I have is 500W so it's more than suffiecient I think.

Thanks for the tips on the power supply caps! I'll see how it sounds when I get it and adjust as needed!
