Samwise uses late 60'2 Sunn Solarus Head
« on: November 18, 2005, 02:40:41 pm »
My name is Mickey and I'm the guitarist in Samwise.  I play out of a late 60's model Sunn Solarus Head through an Orange 4x12 Cab (I wtill ahve the original Cab's for the Sunn, 2 2x14's). this thing is massively earpeircing @ 2.  It was the first and only tube amp I've purchased and (8 years ago) and I've only had to change the tubes. It is truely a tank. the guitar I use is a 76' fender Mustang affectionately named Misses.

The Solarus is a great amp for people who like to play at 11. The reverb in it has gotten really springy so I've disabled it. The Tremelo is AMAZING!!!!! I'm trying to find a way to look it up (serial#) but I'm not sure where to go. Anyone got any ideas?
