Sunn bass cab ID?
« on: December 03, 2002, 12:53:30 pm »
Hello All!

I have a Sunn bass cabinet with 2 15" drivers with silver frames and square shaped magnets and 2 round ports in the front. The grill is a goldish color. Unfortunatly ther is no ID tag on it or any markings on the inside of the cabinet. Anyone have any idea to what model cabinet this is or when it was made?

Thanks!!

Hi! What are the exterior dimensions of the cab?  Are the ports located "between" the drivers, to either side?

Does it look similar to the Beta 205 as shown here:

Just curious...

Geoff,

The cab is 40" x 24" x 15"

Here are a few links to some pics:

That is a nice looking cab!  Interested in selling it? :D  Congrats on getting all the screws off the back (my wrist is always sore after doing that)!

Probably somebody here should be able to tell you right off what it is exactly.  I'm sorry I can't.  Classic Sunn dimensions, but I haven't ever seen one from this era with round ports.  I've only seen the big side shelf port or the reverse flare port in between the drivers.   I guess I'm not so Sunn-savvy afterall.  The cosmetics inside and out look like my Coliseum Lead 4x12 cab.

Yo Fix.........try messuring again and see if it's 42" high. It appears to be a Sorado cabinet to me. But, it's been a long time since I opened one up. I'd put it somewhere around a 72..........made on a Tuesday. 8)

If I include the hight of the casters, the cabinet is 42" tall. Thanks for the info, if it is a Sorado I'll have to look for a matching head. This thing sounds great with my GK400!

Have a good one,
