sunn 350b + 118 cab
« on: August 01, 2003, 11:26:24 pm »
my dad has a sunn 350b and a 118 cab. i know that a 350b is a new version of the 2000s but i need to know more about the amp. if anyone knows more about it can u give me info.
it sounds great and we just got 4 new electro harmonix 6550EH's for it.
The cab is huge. its rated at 4 ohms and 300 watts rms. it says 118v-top on the label on the back.  all the ones ive seen say 118v-bottom. can u give me any info? its a cerwin vega. i thought they only had jbls in these. is it rare or anything? how much is it worth?
it is in a 30x30x15 cab. it pumps out the bass and shakes the walls in our basement on extremely low volume.
it is a 1972 350b head. the cabs are in excellent condition and there is no tears in any of the fabric.
we have a fender bassmaster bass for it and its in excellent condition. anyone know anything about this bass guitar?

I don't think Sunn ever used JBL 18's. They'd gone to proprietary drivers (transducers) before they used 18's. The exception was the Cerwin-Vega 18, used in the 118V and the 118VH (that's what the V stands for).

I think that the cabinets came in two configurations, top and bottom. Not much difference between them other than looks. They function the same, but the cabinets were designed so that the jack and nameplate were on the top end of the back of the cabinet, whether the vent was above or the below of the driver.
