BETA BASS FOOTSWITCH?

Does anybody know what the footswitch does on a Beta Bass amp? I recently purchased it and it works great, but I know nothing about it! Are there footswitches still available? Mine is a '72 model.

 You will find footswitch schematics posted under that heading on this site. Unless you convince someone to part with theirs you will have to build one.
