beta bass footswitch

this seems like a common question, but I have yet to see an answer.  I am looking for a footswitch for my "new" beta bass head.  The only problem is it has a very odd jack that looks like a small xlr almost.  My friend has a beta lead and his footswitch is a 1/4".  Any ideas on where I could find an odd footswitch or how to convert the jack to a 1/4"?

I Changed the "XLR like" jack to a 1/4". I went to Radio Shack and bought their 1/4" three-conductor Stereo Phone Jack. RS p/n 274-312B. They com in pkgs of two. Using the schematic provided on this site, I connected the wires like this: Black wire to terminal #1(Gnd.), White wire to terminal #2, Blue wire to terminal #3. I'm also in the process of building my own footswitch. When I'm done with that I'll post the entire project in detail in cluding drawings and photos.
