I'm thinking about buying the 300T tube bass head.  If I match it to a Sunn 4 X 10 cabinet, will I be able to utilize all the power in the head to get that tube sound?
Someone said you need two 4 X 10 cabinets. Is this true or untrue?  Thanks.

The 300t is a great amp! I myself don't have my cabinets yet , to maxamize it's power two cabs are certainly louder, but i would think one 410 cab can give you that tube sound. I am using a yamaha 215 now, but I don't have a Sunn dealer nearby, so, I'm looking into other options. Good Luck, Nick

Ampeg cabs vs new Sunn cabs, Anyone.  I know I can't be the only one looking for the ultimate bass set up!

I am no expert (yet) but I have been shopping too.Reason to look at Ampegs is there are many more options to choose from. I hope No one here gets down on me for this, but check out the Ampeg official corporate web site and look at all  the differant cabinets they have available for Bass which was their main product. Ideal would be a 4-10 and a 1-15. But there are 2 or 3 variations on those over there. I could imagine a 300T or even a 2000S to a coupla a big Ampeg cabinets as being real close to what you are looking for. (unless of course you can find a couple of old Sunn 200S or 2000S JBL D140 cabinets in perfect working and cosmetic condition.) But that may take a lifetime. If you go with Ampegs,it can cost you big bucks however. Some of them are TWICE the price of the Sunn. But they are built like tanks and handle LOTS of power and have outstanding re sale. But best thing is to go play the stuff. Haul your own amp with you for the demos ,a good music shop really wont mind.
