sunn concert lead history

hi, i would like to know if someone knows the history of the concert lead, i know there are 2 versions, the black and silver, and the black and red, which one is the best tone-wise? is there a way i can know the year of manufacturing? . help me!

The black and silver came first. I'm not sure what year, but one member of my band back then bought one around 74 or 75.

As with everything, the one that is "best" tonewise is the one that sounds best to you.
