I own one of these old Sorado amp heads. It was my first amp along w/ a Kenwood stereo speaker and a Hondo Les Paul! I bought all of it from an old neighbor for $75.Needless to say, the Kenwood speaker is long gone ang the guitar is stowed away for nostelgia but the old Sunn is still pumpin' it out.
I want to replace the tubes and clean the pots out to freshen it up a bit.It looks like it has both original 6550 tubes but I'm not sure what the other tube is.[I'm guessing it's the preamp tube but numbers are worn off].It's a 9 pin base and the last two characters are 8a I think.Any suggestions as to what I need and what type of tubes to get?I'm guessing that it's a '69 model and it's got 3 basic knobs[vol, treb,&bass] and 2 cut switches[hi&lo].Any info would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Keith

Hey Keith, That's a 6an8a tube. You'll also find a 12ax7 tucked up front between the tranny and the front of the amp. Good luck!
